Getting Pictures to Work

I was going nuts trying to get fighter pictures to show up in the game, until I finally figured out the problem: when the manual says "they have to have the same name as the fighter has in the TB database...", it really means it - the file names are case sensitive. It has to be Ali_Muhammad_01.jpg, not ali_muhammad_01.jpg.

I think I can hear Cubedrum groaning from here about the prospect of renaming all those picture files. At least the file format didn't change.

I think for the sake of cube's sanity, Andreas might want to think about making it not case-sensative in a patch.

He he. Already started the conversion. Case non-sensitivity won't help in this case because I list the first name first. Give me about 3 weeks and I'll have a set for everyone. I'm coming up with a list of missing fighters as I do it. Most disturbing absentee so far is Andrew Golota.

How do you put in pictures of fighters with multiple last names? Best example Roy Jones Jr.

Does anyone know how to get the exact names from the database to import pictures?

For example -- I have a picture of Sam Langford -- But -- I dont know what his name is in the database so that I can match the picture's name.

Anyone with any ideas please?

JonesJr._Roy.jpg - remove the space between any multi-word first or last names.

My problem is not the naming part, but the fact that I am apparently too stupid to be able to size them appropriately. It doesn't help that XP's image editing has no resizing feature, and neither do the simple programs that came with my digital camera. It's driving me crazy! I'm in the process of searching out a simple freeware/shareware program that will do common image editing tasks if anyone has any suggestions. There's got to be some....

Actually you can download a shareware version of Paint Shop Pro and you can do resizing with it, as well as save it almost all digital formats.

Just click on the evaluation, of course you can only use it free for 30 days, but that should give you some time to finish what you need.
