EBL Has a Team Available

The Elite Baseball League - EBL - has a vacancy and is looking for a solid, dedicated owner.

The Oak Street Mafia are available.

Oak Street have been one of the top teams around the American League for the past 6 seasons or so, but they are aging a bit and could use the benefit of an owner with a long-term vision.

The EBL is one of the toughest around, with some of the best and brightest owners going. It is also one of the best leagues in terms of participation, as last season the ownership hit an astounding 93% participation level (sim in and sim out).

We are in the midst of our 8th season, and the league originally started as an OOTP v3 league under Heath Peters in November, 2001, with 30 teams involved in an initial draft. In May, 2003, prior to the 2007 season, we moved to OOTP v5. The league has 18 games of inter-league play and the American League uses the designated hitter, while the National League does not.

As a commish I am a firm believer in participation, as teams that win are invariably those whose owners give a damn and do whats necessary to either get their team to the top or keep it there. As such, for each sim, I require at least an email saying "no changes". This lets me know that at least the owner took a look at his team between sims.

I am an active owner in the league (Vancouver Armageddons) and have been since the beginning. My team is a regular season powerhouse, thanks to one hell of a fine initial draft (one of only a few teams to go exclusively with prospects) and some crafty trading, but "The Curse" always, without fail, cripples me come playoff time, almost comically finding ways to lose when it matters most (that damn karma thing).

If anyone is interested in either team please check out the league site, the rules, and then get back to me.

When sending me an email, let me know your OOTP experience, any leagues you have been in or are currently in. Please include URLs of the past or present leagues, as I prefer to get recommendations about prospective owners from other Commishes or owners I know in order to avoid constant team turnover.

Cheers,

Dean Gordon

Dean,

I am not putting down your league, but I have heard that you guys take long breaks between seasons, is that true?

It doesn't really answer my question, he says Oak Street is available but then he goes on to say "If anyone is interested in either team please check out the league site, the rules, and then get back to me." So I was just making sure there wasn't a second team available. Thanks for reading his post too.

The Mafia have been taken... thanks to everyone who showed interest and there should be a team or two available at the end of the current season...
