How do I remove someone from the 40-man roster in commissioner mode?

In the offseason, I accidentally bumped a player from a rookie league team to my MLB roster, so he was automatically added to the 40-man roster. I demoted him back to A ball and went into commissioner mode to edit the player, and I unchecked the ML contract. But I'm not seeing how to get him off the 40-man roster. Any advice?

There should be a drop down menu to select minor or major league contract.

I did flip him back to a minor league contract, but he's still showing up on the 40-man roster.

Another way you could do this which I have done previous. Place the player on waivers, then Designate him for assignment. This takes him off the 40-man roster. Before advancing the day, go into the editor and assign him to the minor league team you want him to be on. Need to be in Commissioner mode to edit him. Want to edit the team before advancing the day so the AI does not try to pick him up. Once you assign him to a Minor League team he will no longer be listed as on waivers, and he will not be listed in the DFA list. He will no longer be on the 40-man and will just be on the team you put him on in the editor.
