Maybe an officiating overhead camera to cut down on the false starts, then. Again, what bothers me is the reported 96.6% success rate.

I remember how boring the one-point conversion play was before they moved back the goal posts and brought in the two-point conversion. The tush-push threatens to do the same to 4th down and one: make it virtually automatic.

Now you have Daniel Jones looking like a potential MVP candidate, while the Giants got 3 QB's off season to replace him. & New York's record is the exact opposite of Indy's.
And now, reports are coming out that Wilson is to be benched in favor of Dart. After only three games.

Sources: Giants to bench QB Russell Wilson, start Jaxson Dart

But the problem with the Giants is not just QB. Barkley and Jones are now blessed with better teammates. The Giants are mired in a long cycle of inept management from top to bottom.

There actually is. First it was your conspiracy theorists, then it started gaining attention in mainstream media. Something about the ball has changed to make it fly further.

I won't dismiss this out of hand. The 64 yard FG Aubry made to send the Giants/Cowboys game into OT was more than halfway up the uprights. That would have been good from 73. I don't believe the legs got that much better.

Does it surprise you that any of these QBs are struggling? Did any of them have high expectations? Maybe Stroud to some extent.

I don't believe Detroit made decisions to win. I believe their success is in hindsight. It just worked out. I question the decision to go for it on 4th and 2 from mid field up by 7. Mainly because Lamar was having issues late in the game. I don't think the Lions had anything to fear by punting. If they didn't get it on 4th, they give the Ravens a chance to tie with good field position. Just my opinion.

I agree 100%. Flacco should not be playing at all. See what you have with your rookies. Flacco is not making you a contender. What I believe this to be is a coach looking to save his job by putting the QB out there that gives them the best chance to win. That's not always how you move your team forward. He's thinking about himself, not the team.

I was mainly referring to the defense. I thought the 4th quarter adjustments clearly caught Lamar off guard. They kept him @ the LOS & resulted in a number of sacks. This after the Ravens were moving up & down the field as well as the Lions.

Annie Agar's NFL Weekly Meeting vids are pretty cool too, even though I hate their being in "Shorts" form and being reversed. It's pretty much Tom Grossi on speed, but Tom has never looked so cute in Arthur Smith's mustache.

"It turns out Matt Eberflus CAN develop Caleb Williams."

Now that I reread your post, I see what you mean. Yes, the adjustments on D clearly had Lamar rattled a bit. Which is why I question going for it at mid field.

Did you notice the spy on Jackson on every play? I think they used a LB. He did a decent job, but it probably should have been a DB.

If you can't stop the tush push your defense isn't very good.

I think Lamar is used to spies. He's just not used to spies keeping him bottled in. And then, I don't think it was the spy as much as the coverage. Where he thought should be the 1st option, it wasn't available. He had to hold the ball too long. The rush kept him from getting outside the tackles. And then they closed the vise. IDK if the Lions were guessing right, or Jackson was guessing wrong. But it happened consistently enough that I think it was something the Lions were showing him & then switching when the ball was snapped.

Oh yeah, I just watched Jaxson Dart on his first drive of the game for a touchdown. The dude can pass and run, and he has presence. Barring an injury or some weird regression, this guy is the real thing. I don't care if it is too soon to judge; I can tell.

Meanwhile, it took all of one play for David Moore to get carted off (on his back, but with thumb raised). Because the Panthers were such a juggernaut as it was, is that it?

FOX puts up a graphic showing that Chuba Hubbard had 17 carries for 73 yards "last week vs Pittsburgh". Which comes as news to all of us who could have sworn the Cats played Atlanta last week, not the Steelers. Seriously, how do they pull "Pittsburgh" randomly out of nowhere?

If I was as a coach, you could not keep my foot out of a player's behind if he lost a TD because he fumbled the ball celebrating before he crossed the goal line

Players today are not coached on such fundamentals. Coaches that attempt to do so are labeled as overbearing, condescending, and out of touch with their prima donna players who are more interested in showboating than taking care of the ball.

Apparently, the Colts teach this; remember that Jonathan Taylor did it in the game they lost at Denver last season. (The one that featured the world's worst WR pass trick play, if you'll recall.)

Any one else think Jerry Jones looked more decomposed than normal?
