Complete newbie wanting to make simple mod.

Outside of some brief coding classes, I have virtually no programming experience. However, I wanted to make a very simple mod for OOTP26, and had a couple questions.

I would like to have the date of a scouting report to be shown in the Scouting Accuracy line of a player's profile.

I take it a lot of mods for OOTP seem to modify existing data/values as well as adding to the database. Would my idea be out of that scope?

I am not asking someone to make this for me. I want to learn whatever is necessary to make this myself.

i don't think that is part of the game that can be modified. Sounds like part of the code itself.
