I just had a draft in my league and A LOT of players were released immediately after being drafted, same day. I'm trying to put everyone back onto rosters but there is just too many draftees that got released...very frustrating. Are we sure roster limits aren't causing this?

Anybody experiencing a bug where the AI is overriding the lock to team on DSL players when promoting a player to the ACL? I can promote a player from the DSL to the ACL but they keep getting sent back the next day in sim.

I didn't look into much further but I think I was also experiencing this, where even if a player was locked in DSL or locked in ACL....in same cases players would be sent to one or the other.

I went ahead and uploaded it with my username as the prefix. I've progressed 8 years since the screenshot, but it still happens every year.

I've run a number of 300+ season tests to check splits and still see some issues. Here are the normalized OPS results I'm getting in OOTP versus real-life MLB numbers from the 1980s:

R vs R
Real-life = .684
OOTP = .702
dif = 17.8 points

R vs L
Real-life = .729
OOTP = .730
dif = 1.0 points

L vs R
Real-life = .735
OOTP = .729
dif = -6.4 points

L vs L
Real-life = .663
OOTP = .670
dif = 7.3 points

Summary
Right handed hitters are still doing too well against right handed pitchers which is skewing overall results.

Left handed hitters are close but might need to be tweaked as well.

Thanks, we'll take a look at this. I do suspect roster limits, especially at the lowest levels are very likely the major cause of this, but it's possible there are some other odd cases as well. We'll check it out.

I'm seeing prospects released also. I'm in 2027 and Theo Gillen, 21 years old and the number 70 prospect in baseball, is a free agent having just been released by his team. There's a smattering of minor prospects available as free agents. Gillen is the best of them but there's a bunch of 2.5 star potential 19-21 year olds that had been drafted and were just let go by their teams.

It was a minor annoyance. I was more concerned about the AI releasing draft picks to be honest

I've tried going back to find it or replicate it in my save files but can't seem to. My *hunch* was that it may or may not have had something to do with DSL league nationality regions or something (default settings.) As I recall there was a Spanish player and a Korean I tried locking to my ACL team, but if I allowed the AI to sort my minors (as I tend to do, I lock specific players and let the AI manage the rest of the promotions/demotions etc) they would both be sent to the DSL team. The Spanish player may have had dual Spanish and Dominican nationalities but I can't remember off the top of my head. I don't recall it happening at other minor league levels, but definitely at the DSL level for whatever reason. Couldn't quite figure it out.

I've seen some questionable waives also, since the latest patch...but nothing close to a star who won the MVP.

I tried deleting one of the DSL teams so I only had one team and that seemed to solve the issue.

Seriously?

The issue there seems to be the long-term injury he picked up in your save (as per your screenshot in another thread). That along with the contract likely caused his value to go negative in the AI's view.

I'm not sure what we can realistically do to prevent something like that, as generally having the AI be adverse to long, high contracts for older, injured players is a healthy thing.

Maybe it would be possible to add an Ohtani specific condition to prevent this in his case, not sure.
