Not sure how to read these schedules, can someone help me find the right one?

Hey all,

Sorry if this thread is a bit redundant since the schedule already exists, but I'm not sure where to ask this.

Schedule request: 36 teams, interleague, 3 div 6/6/6

Id like to find a schedule for a 36 team sim, 3 divisions in each league, 6 teams in each division, with interleague play. Each division simply has one extra team added to it.

The catch is that Id like 3-4 game series. I downloaded a schedule and did not realize it was 2-game series against non-division opponents, which I find kinda underwhelming.

My issue is I'm not sure if I'm reading these right and which ones will generate 3 game vs 2 game series. New to this, so could use some help.

I'm not super picky. I'm just wondering if someone could help me identify which ones would generate series longer than 2 games. I dont mind the occasional two game series, but as a rarity, not the default.

Would prefer 162 games but if a little less is required for 3-4 game series thats fine too.

Thanks

Check out the 36 team schedules in this thread: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=324385

If none of them work for you, you can usually make a request and someone (typically gmo) will usually get around to it.

Yes, I've been to this thread, just without sounding a little dumb I'm not sure how to read these... I can't tell which ones will generate 3+ game series instead of 2 game series.

This one says "3H / 3A" for interleague. So is this what I would be looking for? Something structured like that? Sorry to make a whole thread just for this silly question lol.

That one doesn't specifically explicitly say the series length but the interdivision is 6 games against non-division opponents, so I'm guessing they're two 3-game series. Same with interleague being 3 games against opponents.

Some links will say "all 3/4 games series" or something like that.

You could also download them and import them to check the series length.

That specific detail confirming particular series length is not necessarily there to be found. If there are comments in the file or the post/thread where the schedule is that info might be given there.

Carplos comments tell how you can perhaps deduce something. As you noted, if you see mention of "3H/3A" or "3H or 3A" for matchups against particular types of opponents, that is pretty good confirmation of 3-game series. Seeing 4's though figure to mean 2- or 4-game series.

If you cannot find anything you like, indeed feel free to make a request. Specifics about what you want are helpful for getting to a result, assuming those specifics can work out. Sounds like you want something like current MLB but with more teams, so the main question would be then how you want to split the games among division/league/interleague opponents.

For that configuration 2-game series are a way to play everyone with that number of teams. If you wanted to play every interleague team in one series (one home or one away) and every league team in two series (one home and one away), that would only leave 7-8 games per division opponent. To get more division games you can cut back in other place(s). E.g., either of (1) playing only 6 interleague opponents or (2) dropping back to one series against both league and interleague opponent would allow for 14-15 division games per opponent.

Those particular schedules are all variations of the same schedule that are meant to be used in sequence. I presume Kirby made six versions so that every team plays the same number of games home-and-away against every other team over the course of six consecutive seasons. I assume most series are three or four games
