Forum Suggestion...

How about we remain logged into forum for more than 30 seconds or whatever it is, lol.

Unless a new thread or reply is short and sweet i have to constantly refresh and log back in... sometimes the entire post is lost, which means you have to remember to 'selecta all' and copy before doing so. Doesn't always happen but original message can be lost.

At that point i just log out in frustration instead of retyping anything elaborate.

been this way forever. not a new thing.

Same for me. I hit the "remember me" or whatever it's called option and no issues at all.

Likely your browser is deleting the forum cookies. It's definitely not a forums issue

My cookies only delete if i close my browser. This doesn't happen on any other forum. Relative to that, 'remember me' shouldn't matter.

i'll try, but if that does fix it, definitely forum-related. that setting shouldn't matter during 1 login session.

“Remember me” only works by creating a cookie. If cookies delete when you close your browser, then you are erasing your “remember me” cookie. Why your cookie seems to be deleting while your browser is open, I have no clue.

It is most definitely not a forums issue since it seems you’re the only one this is happening to.

Yeah it's probably just the cookies... I always stay log in as long as I don't clean them.

So, it doesn't happen on any other website and the peanut gallery's conclusion is it's a local problem? LOL.

firefox just sees i'm on ootp forums and logs me out after 5 minutes of typing a reply?

i'm not aware of that function in firefox... new to me.

Operation Sports updated their forums with new software. I hated the new default colors/settings and tried using their menu to change to another. All the new menu settings stuck, but nothing changed in the display. Like your case I was the only one seeing this, and also like you I was only having the issue on one site, Operation Sports . And for now you are the only one that has posted, nobody else has come in with a "me too". I contacted their support and they had me clear my cache and cookies. Once that was done no more issue.. No other site I go to had this issue. The problem was on my end. Sometimes that is just the way it is.

The "peanut gallery" took the time to respond hoping to help you out. The "peanut gallery" has not seen the issue on whatever browser they are using.
Me? I use Chrome and have never had an issue. My iPhone uses Safari and it always stays signed in too.
You never mentioned what browser you were using in your OP. For giggles I loaded up Firefox. It remembers all of my passwords including OOTP forums. I did use "remember me" and I did not have FF delete cookies when I closed the browser.

I use Firefox as well and haven't run into this issue. I have a few questions/suggestions:

Do you have a cookie in your data for ootpdevelopments.com? You can check this by going to Settings -> Privacy and Security -> Manage Data (under the Cookies and Site Data section). For reference, I'm showing 8 cookies for the site.
Look in your about:config and see if there have been any changes to any of the network.config.* values. Sometimes you can change these without meaning to, also, to my next point...
Do you have any specific extensions installed that effect privacy and/or security? If so, recommend checking the settings in each as they can adjust the behavior of cookies, even on a specific site basis.
Try making a cookie exception for OOTP and see if that fixes the issue. Basically you want to whitelist the site/forums.
