Schedule Request : 32 Teams (2 SL/ 8 D / 162 gms )

Hope this hasn't been asked before. If at all possible, I would like a 32-team schedule similar to the MLB format used since 2023, in order to closer mirror how MLB has scheduled the past few seasons. Series length can be either 3 or 4 games to hopefully make scheduling a bit easier.
  • 162 games, season starting late March, ending early October, ASG in mid-July
  • 2 subleagues of 4 divisions with 4 teams each
  • 12-13 games against each divisional opponent
  • 6-7 games each (1 home/ 1 away) against teams from same subleague
  • 6-7 games against interleague "rival"
  • 3-4 games against every other team in opposite subleague
  • At least 2 schedules, with alternating home and away interleague matchups
  • Interleague play can either be year-round or confined to the pre-2013 format where they are played before the ASG, whichever is easiest.
For interleague rival purposes, I am planning on going with the following division structure:

AL East
Boston Red Sox
Toronto Blue Jays
NY Yankees
Baltimore Orioles

AL South
Colorado Rockies
Texas Rangers
Houston Astros
Kansas City Royals

AL North
Detroit Tigers
Cleveland Guardians
Minnesota TwinsChicago White Sox

AL West
Seattle Mariners
Portland / Utah expansion team*
LA Angels
(Las Vegas) A's

NL East
NY Mets
Philadelphia Phillies
Montreal Expos*
Pittsburgh Pirates

NL South
Atlanta Braves
Miami Marlins
Washington Nationals
Tampa Bay Rays

NL North
Chicago Cubs
Milwaukee Brewers
Cincinnati Reds
St. Louis Cardinals

NL West
LA Dodgers
San Francisco Giants
San Diego Padres
Arizona Diamondbacks

* = expansion team

I would prefer to keep the following rivalries: Mets-Yankees, Expos-Blue Jays, Dodgers-Angels, A's-Giants, Reds-Guardians, Marlins-Rays, Cardinals-Royals, and Orioles-Nationals. The remainder may be scheduled however is easiest, but with preference to teams in the same division (East vs. East, etc.)

Attached is a starting point. There is it will not end up being exactly correct in the matchups. Because this will likely need to be edited I have not tried to make another version to reverse home/away.

An issue with specific rival matchups is trynig to fit them to the particular league. The schedule only knows teams by ID numbers internal to the league. Order those numbers by division and alphabetical order by place name within each division is a good start but no guarantee. In your case the names for the A's team and whether the one team is "Portland", "Utah", or something else thus matter.

I have mapped out the interleague rival matchups as below. Report what the rivalries actually turn out to be in your league with this schedule. If you have not created the league, do that, even if only as far as defining the teams in their divisions. With that I could "fix" it to get the desired matchups, whether they be mismatches now or things you decide you want different.

BAL/WAS (cross division)
BOS/PHI
NYY/NYM
TOR/MON
COL/ATL
HOU/MIA (Marlins & Rays in same division)
KC/STL (cross division)
TEX/TB (Marlins & Rays in same division)
CHW/CHC
CLE/CIN
DET/PIT (cross division)
MIN/MIL
LVA/SF (assumed "Las Vegas" name)
LAA/LAD
POR/ARI (had to pick a name for guess at IDs)
SEA/SD

The rivalry series are roughly in late May (early week) and mid-August (weekend).

Looks good! At first I was having issues with the cross-division rivalries but it seems I accidentally flipped the north and south divisions when typing out the league structure on here, and had south division above the north division instead of how I actually formatted it in-game, including in a quickstart (East-North-South-West, taking inspiration from the NFL). If it's not too much trouble, is there any chance the interleague matchups can be modified to reflect that? If it's too much of a hassle then I can just modify the league structure and save a new quickstart.

The attached should adjust the divisions as you say and thus have the rivals as I listed with your configuration. Let me know if it does not come out as expected, though I may be offline for a while here shortly.
