There were some issues from the last release (https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=364205) that we wanted to address quickly, so we are issuing a hotfix patch for that.
The new version is 26.5.70. Note: This is updated from the public beta version we put out a few days ago. We updated some more rosters, including more draft picks. That should be the only change from the previous version. If you wish to start a new standard game, we would recommend to update to version 70. If you are not, then you can stay on version 69 with no trouble. Update Info for our webstore customers: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. Updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions. Steam users the update should apply automatically when you next load up the game. Changelist 26.5.70
Important info for online leagues: This version is compatible for online leagues Download link for Windows PC (Fastspring Webstore Version): Main server: PC Installer Mirror: PC Mirror File Here's a PC installer (Fastspring) that installs into a single folder, which is useful for external HDs for example. Or for creating a second test install of the game, so you can try the patch out without the risk of messing up your main install of the game if something is wrong in the patch: PC Single Folder Installer Download link for MacOS (FastSpring): Main Server: MacOS Installer Mirror: MacOS Mirror File Thanks, Matt + The OOTP Team |

I don't know if it is only this version, I was not checking it before. But I've noticed that the AI is making bad roster decisions. For instance, in one save, Ethan Holliday was consistently a top 10 prospect but he got released and signed by 3 different teams over 3 seasons.
I am regularly seeing 4-5 star prospects in the free agent pool at the beginning of the season (young enough that they could make good on this potential). Usually relief pitchers, but occasionally a starter or position player. |

Are you using any adjusted settings where you are seeing this, especially adjusting roster limits for the lowest levels of the minors? Generally speaking, setting roster limits lower than 35 in the rookies leagues can lead to AI weirdness. The most helpful thing might be if you can post a save game where you are seeing this in the bug reports section, so we can load that up and check out the settings that may be causing it.

It seems like this is likely another feature of the AI valuing current ability over potential. I don't think the AI should really look at current ability at all when players are under 21 (except maybe to assign their level). 3 star+ players should be prioritized for finding spots and playing time in the system. |

To think of this another way, your AI is not properly prioritizing the minors. When we had a AAA team in my city, I remember the manager saying that the team was there to serve the interests of the major league team. Your AI is prioritizing the interests of the minor league team.
What the AI should be doing is: -evaluating who are the best prospects in the system (based on the current scout's rating and OSA) -prioritizing those "best prospects" over anything else -these players never get released under any circumstances -assigning them to the right league level, and making sure they get top priority for playing time -at the same time, for younger players, managing their development so as not to "overuse" them (this also means tweaking the development parameters, so it is not always "more playing time gives more development") Maybe the last one is harder, but the others should 100% be there. Then, and only then, once the prospects are in order, start filling out the rosters. Last edited by thenewchuckd; 07-22-2025 at 01:31 PM. |

Did you intend to disable the "talent influence on minors" option when in Challenge Mode? Seems like something we should be able to control outside of commissioner mode.

I am having some serious issues with starting a live start game. Seems to get stuck in a death loop when loading the live packet. I have troubleshot and fixed the data, also accessed it on a few different computers and no luck. Anyone have any idea? Seems as though its centered around my license.
