Overall is Useless - How about a rarity rating too?
I get that you want to have some "key" cards in each tier of overall cards for the tourneys, but the overall rating in general is so very useless. At the very least you would expect it to be overall rarity, but even that is disputable as there are clearly many "rare" cards that exist in every tier (iron, bronze, silver, etc) but there's no key to how rare each card is. At this point all the overall rating does is give them a "tier" structure for pack pulls and tourneys.
Heck, the regular pack structure is useless, as now there are literally 101- and 102-rated cards. So even that reason for overall is almost moot. I appreciate that there's always a post for Spotlight Packs that describe the rarity for the highest overall cards that can be pulled in the pack. But that doesn't exist for regular packs. I would just like to see some sort of rarity associated with the cards in regular packs. I know what's rare and what isn't in general because I've been playing since PT opened this year, but it just feels surreptitious to provide an overall rating that has almost nothing to do with rarity (except for tiers for pack pulls), and not provide how rare certain cards actually are compared to others. Feels like this could be an issue if someone were to bring this up in a legal sense. Real money for a lottery system that doesn't list the actual odds of pulling certain cards. If people have spent real money on buying PP to buy packs where the ACTUAL card odds aren't provided...yeah. Cough cough. Last edited by usa_hank; 07-20-2025 at 10:52 AM. |

The odds of pulling a specific historical silver would be very slim, given the large number of other historical silvers that could instead be pulled (and the other necessary pack odds to take into account).

Personally, I think the Perfect-Diamond-Gold-Silver-Bronze-Iron levels are enough = no need to have an overall at all. All it does is confuse the search for the best card by adding a rating that doesn't mean anything. As far as Live Card adjustments, all we need to know is if a card changed levels or not. The actual calculations to determine that don't have to be public. [End Of Rant] , EOR
