*** Project Frankenstein. MLB AS Break 2025 with draft results***

With the completion of the first half of MLB, along with completion of the 2025 draft my roster-making mind can’t sit still LOL.

I’m going to attempt to “Frankenstein” a few different data resources/databases together to complete an update that will feature:

- Started with MLB Live start with updated Standings and statistics as of the All Star Break

- Update roster ratings to my CBL ratings system for R/L splits, overall/potentials, speed, et al

- Update markets, misc information

- Complete list of 2025 MLB draftees on correct teams. All 615 (!!!) players have been created in my database. WHEW. As of today about +70% have accurate scouting reports reflected in ratings/talent.

- Updated injuries

- Updated roster moves. I may miss some minor league guys but will try to capture as many as possible.

- All Star rosters. UGH. Issues here..I plan to up roster size to ~45+ so hopefully nearly all players make it. It’s a no-win situation in OOTP…AL has 42 players with injury replacements, NL 39. I see no way at this stage in live start to “force” a player to all star team. I cannot control this fully unfortunately. Some players who made it like Julio Rodriguez with lower offensive stats will likely not be selected to team.


This will take some time. I’d love to finish all of this during the All Star Break. TBD on timing!!!

Hey gang!

Thank you to everyone for your kind words of support. Means a lot to me!

*** Status update ***

- Players updated ratings/talents with my CBL R/L split, overall scale, speed, defense, et al. I will continue to comb through and update any I initially missed.

- ALL drafted players loaded in, and MLB draft completed with each player on their correct respective team. I plan to move the recent draftees to an appropriate minor league level. For instance HS players will start in Rookie ball, some advanced college players probably in A ball.

- I’m updating injuries today. Unfortunately the live start places majority of MLB injured players on MILB IL :/ I’m going through, one by one, to correct and place MLB players on correct 60 Day or 10/15 Day IL.

- Another thing….no players in Live Start in International Complex :/ UGH.

- I am reviewing talent at least in AAA and AA to ensure they have a rating appropriate to be at that level. For instance AAA current rating of 30-35. This will take some time

- I have not touched market size, coaching changes, budgets etc yet but plan to do so soon.

Overall it’s shaping up quite nicely. Hopefully can release sometime this weekend. I’ll keep everyone updated!

Quick question about this file, if you're using a live start, the first draft that a user will draft would be the 2026 draft? If so, as a college baseball fan, I would love to see the draft class for the the 2026 draft pool get some additions, Baseball America just recently updated their 2026 draft rankings and there is a lot of those players not in the game. I would be more than happy to collect lists of players to add if you are interested? and help in any other way possible

Yep great question. I have a subscription to Baseball America and lean on them heavily for scouting and ratings for prospects and future draftees. You are correct they released the Top 100 prospects for 2026 MLB draft. I’d love to add them in….comes down to bandwidth honestly. My focus right now is on this order:

- Implement CBL R/L splits, ratings system et al ** DONE **
- Implement complete 2025 draft with draftees correct teams ** DONE **
- Existing UDFA assigned to correct team ** DONE **

Still pending
- Injuries
- MLB 26 man Rosters
- Ratings for AAA and AA to be appropriate for each level
- Market size, Financials
- MLB coaching staff
- Misc checks (usually involves reviewing the big picture - ratings by position etc)
- Player Popularity


Basically after all of above I would want to review MLB 2026 draftees. As an army of one, and someone that has a full time consulting job and family, hours for roster creation vary :/

Normally, I've done saves in the past where I'll piecemeal add prospects to the following class 5-10 at a time and by the time the next draft rolls around, I've added most if not all of them.

Would it help if I were to see who on the overall list, the college and high school lists that aren't in the game already and then maybe it would fit in better for your schedule if you knew the scope of the additions? Im more than happy to help and will download this regardless... just be nice to know the first draft will be in good shape for the following season. Let me know if that would be helpful? Otherwise I'll attempt it myself after the fact.

Ehhh….. I’m not certain honestly. OOTP uses player ID for its database, which depending on roster set you are using may be different. For instance for the Live Start / All Draft roster set I’m working on, I had to “add/create” at least 200 players. Their ID’s will be different I’m assuming if it’s another live start vs OOTP official roster set versus my Universe.

Truly appreciate the offer! Since OOTP uses ID in database to identify it may be different depending on which roster set using.

For instance in my effort here, I had to create around 200 players to have all players for the draft from live start available. Those 200 ID’s are random from what I can tell and will be different from others.

Once I release roster set I’ll share with everyone a file I use to try and get players in to OOTP that maps real 20-80 scale in to OOTP. That file could be of use to identify missing players.

If I have time I’ll try to get at least the top 100 2026 draftees in set. TBD.

Yes - my roster file will have updated MLB standings and players stats as of the All Star Break
