Positional Draft Closers

I think the positional drafts are fun and an easy way to get into the draft tournaments. Wondering why though when you get to the closer screen there are never any of the top closers available? The starters are 100s and 99s but you don’t get the Chapman, Kimbrel, Hoffman, Rivera etc choices on the closer picks. On purpose or something odd that only happens to me?

It's on purpose.

Because that is the format of the draft. RPs are in Round 11 (gold 80-89)

Positional drafts

Tend to have a LOT of runs scored. Not only are the relievers relatively poor, but it's really rare that you will see a SP screen with 5 guys on it that you really want to use.

There are 49 Perfect SP. 9 of them are Lives. And there are 49 High Diamond SP, with 7 lives. So your average number of top 20 perfect SP on that screen is 20/98 x 12 or 240/98, or less than 2 1/2.

Position drafts

Often end up with team ERA's above 7.

Recommendation

Enter a couple of daily Gold and daily Silver tournaments, then download the stats file when it's completed to look and see who performed and who didn't. You'll be mainly looking at pitchers, and specifically relievers for the most part.

You can also spy on the top 4 teams (or more) by examining the league file (I just use the tournament tree) to see who they consistently use.
