It seems that your photo is indeed of Carlos Macia. The same photo is on his record at Baseball-Reference.com.

However, I've found no evidence that he played in the Negro Leagues. He's not listed in the Seamheads database, and he was not in any of the published Negro Leagues encyclopedias. He did play in the Cuban League.

Seamheads doesn't list players prior to 1885 or 86 I think, but they do have a number of cuban league exclusive players on their site so I'm not sure where else to put their photos on here. The image on BR was added on by me back when I first got the clipping, around when I was first allowed editing access on there for the first time (I scanned it into my computer) and more or less forgot I did so, so I may remove it if it remains unverified since we work hard to keep things as tidy as possible.

EDIT: The clipping appears to be from a team photo with head shots of the players but I can't find it with names labelled.

I did find a site that has an actual photo of him on it that we can use for comparison: https://www.lajiribilla.cu/el-secreto-de-carlos-macia/

Friend sent me this photo of the 1938 All Star team from Vera Cruz Mexico. We're pretty confident the 8th player from the right is Martin Dihigo, but unable to say for certain. Dihigo spent the 1938 season in Vera Cruz and the person in the image has similar features.

Also in picture are Sam Hairston, Jesse Douglas and Bill Powell. Indianapolis Clowns sold Lott to the Chicago White Sox on August 3; Sox first sent him to Waterloo and then to the Colorado Springs on August 25 where he played the final three weeks of the season (.345 BA) for the Sky Sox. Hit 2 HRs in final game of season.
