Mac Import '25 Game Issue
I need help revisiting this from a now closed thread.
I followed this procedure listed by Matt below. Once I did this and did the "Import" function, the two league files that I copied and placed in the folder still do not appear in the list to import. Version 26 sees them as "Load" options, but of course they don't load until they are imported to the new version. After clicking Import I see a path listing that ends in the /OOTP Baseball 25/saved_games but the two leagues I copied over are not shown. Could anyone assist with this or give me another option? Thank you How To Import Your Save From OOTP 25 On Mac Hi all, Mac uses a system where they compartmentalize files so that you won't be able to find your OOTP25 save in OOTP 26 to import it initially. No worries though, it's pretty easy to work around this. Here's how: In OOTP 25, click on "Settings," then the "Troubleshooting" tag. Then click on "Open folder containing saved games." In OOTP 26, do the same. Copy the game you'd like to import from the OOTP 25 saved games folder to the OOTP 26 saved games folder. Now, when you try and import the game in OOTP 26, you should be able to see it in the OOTP 26 saved games folder. (You still have to import it for it to work in OOTP 26.) Then you should be good![/INDENT] |

You'll need to navigate to the OOTP Baseball 26/saved_games folder where you copied them. It won't pick them up in the 25 folder on a Mac.

Another way to copy 25 games to 26 on a Mac
Here's another way. Navigate your way to the 25 saved_games folder (not in OOTP, but in finder). When you have it, click on the folder once to highlight it. Then duplicate the folder using Command-D; you should get a folder named saved_games (copy).
Drag the copy to your desktop, close the 25 folder, and open the 26 folder (again open it in finder, not OOTP). Locate the 26 saved_games folder, open it, and drag the 25 copy into it. Open OOTP 26 and click on the import from 25 option. Navigate to the 26 saved_games folder; you should find the 25 copy in there. Open it, select the game you want, and begin the import process. The imported game should appear in your 26 saved_games folder. Do this with each of the games you want to import. Open each of the imported games to make sure they are loading properly. You can use this copying process with the photos, facegen, ballparks, or uniforms folders to update 26 with any special files you may have created or downloaded to your OOTP 25 game. As usual with a Mac, it will warn you if you are overwriting existing files. You can choose to overwrite or skip them as you wish. Whenever I get a new version of OOTP, I always locate the folder for the new version, make an alias of it, and put the alias in my master Baseball folder. That way with just a few clicks I can access all the contents, saved games, photos, sound effects, etc. See my post "A Tale of Two Datapaths" in this Technical Support section for an explanation of why this problem is happening. I hope this has helped. Last edited by pholmer; 06-14-2025 at 04:19 AM. |
