How difficult would this custom made scenario be to create?
I am not familiar with building custom made leagues, how difficult would this be to implement for a unique game world?
- The top league to be lower in quality than MLB (say AAA or AA quality) - Not be in the USA - Five teams in four divisions (20 teams total). - The division winners and runners qualify for post-season - The division winners are seeded against the teams with the lowest win percentage. - An affiliate minor league team for each team. - A college feeder league. - Finances and attendances of the league to be far lower than MLB. How might I be go around setting something like this up? |

Have you checked the schedules available for such a format? If there isn't one you like you'll have to make your own.
I suggest two leagues and an even number of teams in each division. That allows for a schedule with more games in division than out of division and reduces the possibility of division winners being under .500. To me 20 is a bad number. 16 in two leagues no divisions or 24 in two leagues of two divisions each are much better.

Odd number of teams in a Division isn't a problem, it is an odd number of teams in a League that would cause an issue. Based on the description here there is only 1 League with 4 Divisions. To the OP, all of this is possible. I would recommend creating your fictional league and choosing "Advanced Setup" and then looking through the settings. Much of this is going to be obvious enough that it would be harder to follow our directions than just going through the settings yourself (and you will learn more about how things work this way). Then you can come back and ask questions on how to set up specific aspects you couldn't find and/or about any of the Settings you came across. |

Depends on what you mean by "just fine". He didn't specify how many games so a reasonable assumption is he intends 162. He has divisions so a reasonable assumption is he wants more in division that out of division play. Otherwise, why have divisions. Of course these assumptions could be wrong.
The best schedule the game can find for this league on 162 games is one designed for a single division 20 team league. It is an unbalanced schedule in that teams don't play each other an equal number of times but at the same time there's not a pattern of in-division and out-division. It's just random... OH! Its the Manfred schedule idea!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() The schedule generator creates a Manfredized schedule also. But maybe that's OK with the OP. I admit to not understanding having divisions without play more in than out but maybe that's just my traditional thinking.
