New patches reset database/facegens

I use Steam/Mac...and the most recent patch wiped out any custom MLB facegens I have, as well as the Complete World Names Database files, and replaces them with the defaults.

Has it always been like this? I think the last update did the same thing if I remember right. Is there any way to have this not happen?

Yes, this is normal, at least the names and any other custom xml from the database folder. I always copy it so I can put my custom versions back.
