Recalc Mode in Fictional League
Hi all, quick question.
I just started a fictional league that I am adding historical players to...Development is turned on, so that has grayed out recalc. However, behind that gray out, recalc is checked as "on" for both current ratings and potential. So a few questions... 1) If recalc is grayed out, does that mean its OFF, regardless of what is checked or not? 2) If the two recalc boxes being checked means that recalc is ON, what can I do to turn them off? I've tried so many things already. 3) If it can't be turned off, does that mean recalc mode is necessary in fictional leagues? The answer to this last question seems like it would be no, so I am hopeful there is just a solution I am missing. Thanks for the help in advance! |

I'm sure someone knows for sure but they haven't been by.
Sometimes grayed out seems to mean off. At other times it means you can't change the setting on the date the game is in. If I had to guess I'd say that since recalc wouldn't apply to a fictional league, which is what you selected, then it probably is off and can't be turned on.

If those options are greyed out, recalc shouldn't be run in the league. I believe we only allow recalc in leagues created in the historical setup.

Yes, as it currently sits, to have the ability to apply recalc the save must be created as an HISTORICAL one in the main OOTP menu. At least that is how I understand it.
If so it is a bit of a silly rule, really, one I feel might need revisiting. Surely, the recalc can only be applied to players with historical stat lines. So I don't see the harm in having at least the option of applying it to any such players that might appear regardless of the type of game setup one chooses initially. I understand this is likely some sort of programming necessity but all the same I do believe it should get another look-at to see if this change can be implemented. For those that like to set up fictional worlds but use historical players in them, either via the historical rookies option, random debut or manual importation, it would be most useful IMHO. G

Just want to point out that you do have the ability to create a historical game and then add a fictional world.
I imagine adding Recalc to fictional setups is possible, but complicated. It would need to be done in a "Random Debut" type of way where the Recalc happens by Age of the player instead of by Year of the league. |

Thanks all!
I was starting a historical league in 1857 based on some of the materials others have used to do so... Since I am doing that, I will very much be importing real players every year. Very helpful info everyone! |
