To be honest, watching whales b*tch about diamond/perfect performance after just 6 weeks into season makes me sad. The hunt (without real $$) is more satisfying. If I spend real $$, it will be to improve my dynasty down the road.

The joy is finding high 70s or low 80s who kicks ass all the way to gold league, while you accumulate your 90+ bench..

Well, finally reached the point where it's clear which teams still have a chance at some success and which don't. I'm sidelining 4 of my 6 teams, mostly because they are pretty much stuck in HS/LS and have little chance of getting to Gold with my limited Free-2-Play time.

The two teams I will continue to manage at this point are the Commodores (into which I've invested $100) which is currently in LD for the 5th time - and the Electrics who managed to squeeze into LG and get their 26k PP bonus. I added Robinson (CS) to the Commodores and Gomez & McDowell to the Electrics.

My expectation is the Electrics will ultimately be dropped since my Twitch drops are going to the Commodores.

One thing is clear; $100 won't make you a whale, but it certainly helps. Secondly; I've had bad luck with drops so far, but the constant influx of packs - if nothing else - continues to pad the point total.

The Dodgers theme team had a magical run...I had little hope in High Gold, pretty much everyone had better rosters than me, but our starting pitching and defense carried us to a hot start, with Drysdale, Valenzuela, and Hershisher three all stars as we led the league in runs allowed. They barely backed into a wild card spot as we only mustered 14th(!) in runs scored but to my great surprise they ran the table and won 2 game 7's en route to a HG title and glory!

Now we are even more in over our heads, I will say the Team Chemistry thing appears to work, talent wise this is a LG level team on paper...

Need to stop calling the B team the B team, it's the Theme Team! I used a good chunk of my hoarded points to pick up Cody Bellinger 100 who has helped my meager lineup a lot and is an Ace at 1st Base. I decided to pick up Bill Singer with my dearly won Clubhouse pts, that' a lotta card for an 89, yes siree! He slides in as the #5 starter. And in a stroke of good fortune, we opened a standard reward pack today it had a gold and a perfect! Was 'just' a Shohei and a 4k gold but a big boost to our PP stash. Anyways, despite a 63-64 record they are in 1st place in a weak division, keeping it interesting?!

Overall? Very bad week.

Not sure I understand the logistics of 60s week, but 5 of 6 teams that were at least doing "ok" up till now all crashed and burned this season. It's unsettling to see a LD roster play like they were still in Iron (BA=.232, BWAR=12.7, PWAR=19.8, DE=.690, ZoneR=-37.7)

One team (LS) in the playoffs...

Somehow I think I got labeled a "whale" because I spent $100 on a team - and then "complained" about finding it harder to improve the team when I got to LD.

I wish folks didn't see every comment about what we're experiencing as "bitching". I think it's the primary reason most folks don't visit the forums any longer. We're just sharing feelings; excitement when we're successful and disappointment when we're not.

I will say I noticed it was a great season to start Rod Carew. Somehow my Theme team made the playoffs yet again, those legendary Dodgers starters just carried them and Belli was a shot in the arm for that anemic O.

Whales and Guppies

Haven't paid any $$ this year so far. Have in past. I know I'll make low gold without whaling.

Don't mind the $$ but darn-it, I want something on my wall at season's end to show my accomplishment AND

Theme team mired in a dismal season going to demote, when I noticed someone listed the Piazza Halo card for 77,777 (first listing). Had to use a big chunk of the Jackie 100 savings fund but that looks like a steal and a half...can list my Variant 90 card too and recoup a bit. Nice!

Main team is in High Gold, having finally completed Live Series. Added Perfect McCutchen to the mix, so it's off to Three Rivers next season with a lineup full of bashers. #2 team won its High Gold division in a race that was tight all season, but they were knocked out in the division series and won't be promoted.

I had a platoon batter win the triple crown in low silver and just won the playoffs without losing a single game... as wildcard. My luck is all used up bros no future left, time to sell the team to Korea.

If anyone is interested, the batter is Jac Caglianone Look at his ratings and you might be as shocked as I am. PT overlords accidentally gave him a horseshoe up his ass (probably more than 1) and I'm sure their field agents are mobilizing to remove it. 8 war batting and 2.3 war as my 5th starting pitcher. Pitching was meh but better than my Pettitte somehow.

I had to bat him vs lefties in September to qualify him with regards to plate appearances but damn...

EDIT: these screenshots were taken before the playoffs ended. The weird adjustments that happen after the season ends have applied and the batting WAR is now 8.0 as opposed to 7.6. Have no idea what the simulation is doing

That card is actually solid for lower-level leagues.

That card landed on me last week as well. Building block in new missions and im trying to sell it at a ridiculous price. Never batted him but just won my 1st WS ever.

Down to one team now (HG). Other teams between HS and HB and don't have the resource of daily attention.

The $100 early investment, Twitch drops, and fast early rise to LD so far sustained the Commodores - now the question is can they survive the eventual "whale-wave" without further investment. My guess is "no". LOL

It's interesting, however, that the other 5 teams I started all followed a similar path; some early success, but an eventual settlement into the middle levels with a 68-69 team rating. Without the $100 boost and the constant Twitch drops, they all followed the same "rush to the middle".

Well, 2nd bad week in a row. Best team (Commodores) have only managed 47 wins in HG and will be regulated to LG on Monday. Even with what I obviously consider a decent roster, I'm sure I'm headed to HS in a week or two. The most active teams, whether by money or by endless hours, are starting to show their dominance of the Diamond and Gold levels.

We'll see how I feel about the results on Sunday, but I'm likely to set everything on automatic and call it a wrap for this year.

If I do, I'll post some details on all 6 teams and let you folks pick apart what I did wrong LOL
