FHM 12 and beyond wishlist
1. Ability to hold discussions with disgruntled players.
2. Ability to discipline players involved in off-ice incidents and or suspensions. 3. Ability to set team manually set team outlook. 4. Ability to set clauses on whatever year they actually apply, since not all years include a clause. 5. Organization interest levels for players and coaches. 6. Ability to set training for specific attributes. If tactic compatibility is based off attributes, we should be able to train players to better fit a tactic. 7. A more forgiving range for which ratings constitute a player being a great or good fit for each tactic. 8. More emphasis on player line chemistry. Have some sort of indicator of how strong the chemistry for each line is, based on how much the players have played together and what role each player is playing. 9. Either speed up the "normal" speed on the 2D gameplay or slow down the fast speed a little. Normal is too slow and looks awkward. Fast is too chaotic and difficult to follow. 10.Sim speed that matches that of historical. Last edited by Savoie45; 05-08-2025 at 11:48 PM. |

Mark the PK forwards as C and W instead of two Fs, so I can tell who's taking the faceoffs.
Prevent the AI filling up their NHL roster during international tournaments, so they don't go on a waiver/trade rampage when the tournaments end and the players return to their teams. |

As an NHL licensed product, ensure that NHL rules (past and present) are accurate. Such as current waiver rules, proper historic expansion draft rules, etc.

In commissioner mode let me veto any CPU trade I want
Turn trading off should be in Setup/Options and available any time not just on July 1 In Historical games using the sponsorship system fix it so the Junior Affiliate names change with the team. New York Americans shouldn't continue being the Quebec Bulldogs Junior Affiliate. Detroit should go from Cougars to Falcons then Red Wings not just be Red Wings the entire time. Obviously other examples |

Definitely all of the above mentioned by OP, especially the line chemistry. I'd like a breakdown of how different line combinations perform - goals, assists etc.
Also, the ability to save tactics the way we can lines. That is a big one, especially if you're playing a save where you like to jump from team-to-team. Additionally, scouting other teams. I guess that it's possible to see how any other team in the game plays by viewing them, but a wee scout report before each game telling you that your next opponent likes to play X, Y & Z and such and such a tactic might work better against them would be nice. Ability to apply for job vacancies rather than simply receiving offers. Just from a nerd point of view, I'd like to see which team has won each division/conference/President's Trophy. |

I would like the devs to still take a look at why there are so many star players as free agents in the middle of the season and still demand high salary. That would fix my biggest complaint about the game.
Other than that, improve 2D. I agree with Savoie that the speed of the games needs to be better. Normal is too slow, fast is too fast. Maybe a slider would be better? The draft experience and trade deadline have to be more fun. The AI should be able to make trades during the draft. Make the trade deadline day more active. Better and more detailed scouting reports. Better training. Visuals for edit lines screen for PP and PK. |

Very, very minor, but I will mention it.
As an "achievement": Win the Stanley Cup, Calder Cup, and the ECHL Cup in the same season. This would be done as an NHL GM, but you were able to adequately supply each of your affiliates with enough to also win their respective championships. |

Career stats should carry the same info as the season stats, especically number of 1st, 2nd, 3rd stars and star points per season.
Too many 3 star goalies do as well or better than 5 star goalies, in my experience. As for 2D speed, I like the current speed of the Fast speed, so maybe have a slider so everyone is happy. |

Please fix the Stars of the Game.
Every time I see a 0-0 tie, neither goalie gets a star. Ridiculous, right? Also, IRL, if a player scores a late game winning goal he almost always gets the first or second star. It seems that secondary assists are weighed higher than primary assists or goals for Star of the Game consideration. |

commissioner veto power over trades is a great idea
we can modify the regular season schedule, but not the preseason schedule? add that option ability to manually set "chemistry" between teammates, such as forward lines mates or defensive partner, with the ability to keep them together correct the goalie starting formula finally, so the backup doesn't get as many starts |

I would like an option in Historical where you can start in any year with actual rosters but the minor leagues and drafts are completely filled out with generated players.

I just want this game to remain playable in long games. I'm in 2032 and I just picked up the eventual Norris Trophy winner on waivers after the trade deadline and then had to choose which 1.5 star potential prospect I wanted in the second round.
The quality of the draft classes once you get past the real world prospects has always been an issue, and they made a big deal about how they worked on it in one of the prerelease Youtube videos this year, but my god it has not improved at all. And the fact that you can build a borderline playoff team just from waiver claims after the preseason. |
