Historical Game (Last 10 years)
I personally don't play historical mode much because of the lack of features and I find that drafting and development is broken when compared to the standard mode.
However, I had a thought the other day why can't a standard mode game be started with the rosters of the past 10 years? In theory it would just be like playing FHM11 but with the FHM3 rosters to start. I guess the biggest issue would be team/league changes, however I would personally give that up (or do them manually) for a more immersive and full featured historical experience. I've never attempted it but could you in theory just keep importing saves from previous games to achieve this? What are your thoughts?

If you import from previous games, you may not have access to all new features.
Theoretically, yes. As someone playing historical mode for the first time, I don't see drafting and development as "broken" by any means. |

It's definitely broken. Try trading draft picks and then having them reset. It's so annoying. Posted in the bugs thread 5 months ago and still don't have a good explanation.
