Can't start old copy of OOTP19

I found OOTP19 on an old laptop and inserted the proper key, but I got an error message: "Could not connect to the eSellerate servers due to a failed network request" Li'l help?

eSellerate is gone so I think it's going to fail the verification check on the old key. I don't know if Fast Spring, who took over as the portal for direct sales, inherited the old list of emails/keys for things that far back but try putting your email (or the email used at the time if no longer your primary) and seeing if Fast Spring through the "Get license info" kicks you back anything that far back:

Wow, weird. I'm in the exact same situation. Searched and found this thread. Trying to activate OOTP 19 and can't seem to. Thanks for the link LansdowneSt. When I go there, it asks for my computer ID. Not sure what this is. RMc, did you get this to work?

Try the bottom option on the portal site and get the license emailed to you again. That's the only way I can think of that Fast Spring might have the keys in its system (just in case they inherited something when eSellerate shut down).

The searching of old threads doesn't portend good news for old eSellerate licenses though. Here is an example.

Thanks, but yeah, this looks discouraging. I contacted Fast Spring last night and will update here if I get anywhere. They DO have OOTP 19 listed in a dropdown menu so I do have some hope. Ultimately, I'm hoping to just load up some old files and confirm I can use these when I buy OOTP26.

If looking just to walk old saves up from 19 to 26 try downloading the demos from 20 to 25 here (assuming you don’t have those versions).

From the 20 start screen, no license required, you can navigate to the saved games in the 19 file structure and import them to 20. Then repeat those steps all the way to 26.
