Waiting for help to solve my problem since August 24,2022

Hello to all OTTPB players and personnel and all the ships at sea.

i am a bit frustrated in that my tickets seem to be getting ignored. Keep in mind that I am not computer savvy and a quick glib response to my issue will not be helpful. Here is the error message I got that has prevented me from continuing my fictitious league playing OOTPB 21,

Error -OOTPB cannot load this database because it has been created with an earlier version of OOTPB. Please use the button import OOTPB 20 to import the database

Is there anyone out there who can help me and provide clear step-by-step directions as to how to address this. i have been told to copy files, create a new folder, overwrite the parent folder etc. which makes no sense to me. I need clear, thoughtful directions.

And if you have any contact with the people in Tech Support, please tell them that I have been waiting patiently to hear from them. Thank you.

So, you are playing in OOTP20 fine? You also have a full version, licensed version of OOTP21 and are trying to move the game over to OOTP 21 to continue playing the OOTP20 save in a new version? Is that correct?

Question in setting up rosters

I have added Ryan Weathers to a team and he was traded before starting our season. I am now trying to move him to his new team and he is just showing up in both. I have made him a FA and that still didnt work. Anyone have any thoughts on how to correct this?

You should be able to, if in Commissioner mode, right click his name and delete him from the menu that comes up. That will take care of that one. The other will be unaffected.

I am reading this thread and really surprised with how happy everyone is with OOTP Support. I submitted a ticket on Oct 13 (2023) and immediately got an autogenerated email asking me some follow-up questions. i responded with answers asap and have not heard from anyone again since. I have continued to log into my ticket and ask for status updates or if there is more info i can provide. a month later and after several follow-ups, i have never received a response.

did you ever get a response to help you with your issue? I have the same issue. submitted a ticket. waiting over a month and continue to follow up in my ticket. no responses.......ever.

It's good they have a ticket system set up - I'm sure it helps them keep track of everything. I'll have to check out the knowledge base first next time I run into any issues.

Can anyone help me? I received this error.. I reinstalled 3 times now and restarted my laptop twice and still get this..
ootp25.exe - Fatal Application Exit
APP_FRAMEWORK::startup - unable to create the folder 'saved_games'. Please reinstall Our of the Park Baseball.

Were the three times all from different downloads - because it may be that the whole thing didn't complete downloading. Is it Steam or Fast Spring? Once you try downloading it again, maybe turn off the anti-virus for 15 min (the file is fine) and retry installing with that newly downloaded one.

Is it normal to not see anything about personnel in a fictional custom league? No scouts, no pitching coaches, no batting coaches, no scouts. I've looked everywhere. Also there are comments about players and the sentences cut off. There is no place where the complete sentence can be read. I'm playing OOTP 25.

Copy and past this post in the forum I linked and you should get some answers.

Coaches, scouts, etc. can be disabled so I'm guessing in your setup they are not enabled. There are a ton of options that can be toggled in the game and some are easy to miss in all of the screens needed to get the game just the way you want it. I've been playing OOTP for well over 20 years, am quite familiar with the game setup screens, and yet still have to search a bit before actually being able to find the exact option I am looking for.

Sentences being cutoff can be due to resolution issues. I play on an ultrawide so really don't see this, meaning I'm not going to be much help in diagnosing or fixing your issue. If you post in general discussion you may want to give some info on the rig you are playing on, monitor resolution etc., along with a screenshot of the cutoff sentences. You could also post a screenshot of the cutoff sentences in the Bug report forum here..

Is it possible to create a team of greats for each MLB franchise? For instance, a Cubs team with Ernie Banks, Ryne Sandberg, and Cap Anson? I have played the game for several years and could never figure out how to do this.
