Consistency over many years
I like the baseball from my youth. The mid 80s to early 90s. I set up my fictional leagues to match this. When I create my league, I select the options to make my league the same as maybe 1990.
I turn off all the settings that would make the league progress with the calendar. I want every year to have stats similar to 1990. I also check Lock League Totals Stats and Use Auto-Calc. So everything mostly works. Batting Average, Home runs, ERA... those things are acceptable. The one thing that always goes bad is Complete Games. When the league starts, I get guys with 10 CG or so, but as time goes, that number gets lower and lower until it turns into modern baseball when I see 1 or 2 by the league leader. There may be other stats where it goes bad too, but CG is the one I noticed. It is like the League Totals are good, but either the 'Other Statistical Modifiers' and/or 'General Strategic Tendencies' gets out of whack. |

I've noticed that also. I think some of the settings on the right, below the league totals, still advance based on the historical year of the league, even if you turn off all other options that would make a league normally progress. (the other statistical modifiers). I noticed this with stolen bases also.
What I would try to do is just make the historical year always be 1990; maybe that way, those modifiers end up being more like 1990 than future years. |

I agree on the stolen bases. I think sacrifice bunts too.
Seems like anything controlled by 'Other Statistical Modifiers' and/or 'General Strategic Tendencies' could be affected. I think it is a bug. |

If you manually set the SP Stamina to 1.000 every year after auto calc has run it fixes the complete game problem. For whatever reason the deeper you play into a game that goes lower (.940, .923, .878, .826, etc.) even with league totals locked .

That is the work-around I will use when I play out my games, but that obviously doesn't help much when you want to quick play a bunch of years to build history. Hopefully, it is fixed at some point. |

Don’t lock league totals. In the past you had had to make sure the historical on left side was set to 1990 but I think they changed that a year or 2 ago.
Anyway, don’t lock league totals. Go to day before opening day or opening day BEFORE any games are played. Go to “stats & AI” tab. On right side LEAGUE TOTALS, Totals from year——put in 1990 where it says select year and complete operation when it asks. The 4 check boxes below should be Unchecked——“lock league totals- unchecked, etc.. I use 1984 as my stat year and this is what I do every opening day first thing.

I didn't try this. Maybe it would work, but it seems like I shouldn't have to jump through hoops. I should just be able to pick a year and say, "I want my league to be like that year and I want it to never change" |
