[Steam] The game will not run without any error messages.
I installed it properly on my NVMe disk. When I hit the play button on the steam, it changes a few cloud related messages and outputs a "running" message, but then the play button is activated again as if the game ended.
I've also run integrity checks, reinstalled the game. It just repeats the same thing. I've been waiting a long time for this game, just want to play it. Does anyone know a solution to these errors? ![]() |

The first few times I saw ootp26.exe run for about a second
Now, even if watch closely, can't even see the moment it's executed.
I guess my computer is pretty good. ![]() |

I ran it on my steam deck, and since it's running normally, I thought I'd probably have to do some setting, like erase something or install a new one on my PC. If anyone has anything I can try in this regard, please give me some advice.

So far, what I've tried to do was delete the old OOTP series folder in the "My Documents" folder, and delete the old OOTP series folder in the %appdata% folder. Does anyone have any other advice?

Apologies for the continued posting. If there is any error message in the game, I will try to share or search and fix it, but as I said before, if I click launch, the launch icon will reactivate as if the game turned off after a while, so I can't figure out what the problem is at all.
I use Windows 11, 64bit operating system, Ryzen 7-5700x processor and Geforce RTX 3070 graphics card. The SSD installed is Samsung's NVMe SSD. I tried installing the SSD on the Samsung 870 Evo model, but the same thing happened. |

You may need to make sure to start steam as an admin. You could also follow steps like this:https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfil...?id=1132053826
It is likely that what directory you are trying to install and run from does not have write permissions. |

Thank you for your advice.

I'm using it with my own admin account because it's my own PC, but I've set write permissions for all users and tried again. But the symptoms haven't changed at all. Also, I'd like to inform you that I've never had any issues with any other programs regarding write permissions. I went into the local folder where the game was installed and tried running the ottp26.exe file with administrator privileges, but only the same phenomenon is repeated. I'm worried I'll look like a grumpy person, but I've been very much looking forward to this OOTP26, and I strongly hope to enjoy it on PC. |

Oh, there's something I forgot to explain. I'm a Korean user using Korean Windows. I don't use the 2byte language folder in Korean on the drive where the game is installed. Will this also affect the error?

In the meantime, I cleaned up the registry using an external program, and reinstalled DirectX and Vcredist. I installed 7 reinstallations by moving SSD and HDD, and Steam was the administrator's authority.
I also went into the local folder where the game was installed and started ootp26.exe with administrator privileges. I also tried running the remove_temp_data_files.bat file in the local folder, all of which were followed by non-responsive shutdowns. When I ran "GDFInstall.exe" in my local folder, I can finally see one error message, so I'm sharing it further. The message is below. [Adding game failed: 0x80004005 GDF binary: H:\steamgames\steamapps\common\Out of the Park Baseball 26\ootp22.exe GDF Install path: H:\steamgames\steamapps\common\Out of the Park baseball 26 All users: 0 Note: This will fail if the game has already been added. Make sure the game is removed first. ] In this error message, ootp22.exe is not something I misplaced. Is this helpful? If there's no answer, I only have a way to format the C drive and reinstall Windows. For me it's so much work that it bothers me. I need help. |

If I understood this correctly your setup has the double byte character set on the C drive, but not on the H drive?
I can see an issue where the game would try to create a file with double byte characters on the drive that doesn't support it. I think in your case it may make sense to install everything to the same drive. Probably the drive with double byte character set is safer to use. On install specify a custom installation path on the double byte character set drive. |

Thank you for responding to my repeated inquiries.

I thought of a lot of cases and tested them, and in the process, I found a suspected conflict with Directx. I made a report through dxdiag, and diagnostics confirmed the conflict with OOTP26.exe. The error code is c0000374, and the conflict file appears to be the ntdll.dll file. This is the first time this is happening on my computer, and it's only causing a conflict with OOTP, which is questionable. If necessary, I can provide the corresponding error report file, the Report.wer file, written in some Korean because of my region, but I don't think it will be a big problem. FYI, just to tell you the information on the current PC I'm using, I'm currently using build 26100 of Windows 11 pro 64-bit 10.0, and the graphics driver is using Geforce's 572.20. Currently, as a solution to this phenomenon, we have conducted self-diagnosis and modification through the DISM command and the sfc command through CMD Manager mode, and it is still unresolved. Additionally, we are planning to replace the ntdll.dll file directly, but it is unlikely to be resolved. |

I finally solved this case.
As I mentioned earlier, during the DirectX driving process, I confirmed that the [ntdll.dll] file is contaminated.
I don't know why this file was in trouble with OOTP, although it didn't cause conflict with other programs. The relevant error code was 0x0000374, and it seems to have caused a memory related problem. I tried to recover by carrying out a number of self-recovery commands circulating on the Internet, but in the end, I was unsuccessful. In the process, I was able to see through the Event Viewer that the ntdll file sometimes caused problems during pc execution, and those events were happening without my knowledge. Having run my C drive for a decade or so without formatting, it was already so complicated that the registry was out of touch, and so many programs were wandering around like ghosts. I eventually chose to reinstall after formatting, and I have now confirmed the normal operation of OOTP 26. Thank you Matt and Erik for your interest and advice. I'm a fan of NC Dinos in KBO, and I was able to try to solve this long problem with confidence because I had the same name as the player who showed my skills in my team. Of course I know they have nothing to do with Matt Davidson of NC Dinos or the legendary Eric Thames or Eric Hacker. However, that's what being a sports fan is like. Sorry for another user who might be having the same problem as me for not being able to fix this case with a clear solution. Format it as soon as possible and install a new one too. |
