Perfect Team: auction bids not increasing
I bid 12,000 on this card with a current bid of 10001
it says bid too small and does not increase the bid presumably someone has a higher maximum but the bid should increase to 12,001? ==================== Trying to test it one more time I accidently entered 111,111 instead of 11,111 and now I cannot adjust it down. I know this is the way it was designed but it would seem better for auction action that it should be adjustable down to the current bid (32000) that you've committed to now but above that should still be yours to adjust. With that ability you will get players to commit more some of the time vs not all or waiting to the last minute. ie, Even if it was a card I did really want and bid 111,111.. another card might come up and I want 30k of that to bid on another card. I should be able to reduce my max bid to 81111. ... because I can't I'll probably not bid at all on auctions until auctions are ending and ones I'm home for. I guess everyone has different experience or use case for auctions... just seems off to me. ===================== Some have said it is using a vickrey 2nd price sealed auction but that's not how it's behaving? My understanding is the idea of true value or honest bidding with vickrey 2nd price sealed auctions is usually for items where the value is roughly known (which is not our variants).. and they are completed sealed and in one shot. It'd be the format opposite of the problem trying to be resolved with variants which is where the value is largely not known. Vickrey -when value is known -one shot sealed , highest pays 2nd price -poor price discovery -suppress sell prices If that is what is to be used, that is fine but that is not how the variant marketplace currently functions... it's a mishmash. It starts out like an ascending auction because it has a starting/reserve price... which is being called the current bid even though it's not functioning like a current bid... then completely buzz kills the action at that point functioning like a "vickrey" only up until the highest bid is exceeded (which the game treats as a hidden current bid) then it no longer becomes vickrey because more bids are now allowed effectively switching back to ascending at that point... and then back to vickrey with the next mystery high/current bid. It's some kind of awkward hybrid where standard ascending auction with max bid and automatic bidding would probably be so much more intuitive and drive prices for the first copies of those variants. Anyway, I wasn't around for early pt auction houes so I don't know if this is a bug or how it's supposed to work. If that's the way it's suppose to work, I hope it's made simpler in the future. ascending, max bid with autobidding, incremental thresholds like +1000 over 20k, +2500 over 50k, +5000 over 100k, +25000 over 250k or similar along with 5/10 minute soft close and ootp go notification for better late/last chance action. Drive the action, make people pay for the first copies and get them out of the way, collective price discovery instead of people guessing at a sealed bid. The collective price discovery is greatly needed since people are hunting for variant food within known value ranges on an item with an unknown value range(at first), why waste that. just imo, I could be missing something

Auction seems to work more intuitively now... with .38 build.
Feels like I'm in an auction,, awesome so far.. still playing around with it.
