Week 10-11: June 24-July 10
Into the second half now. Can the Spirits hang with the Oaks and get a crack at an unlikely title? Or will the giants cruise to their sixth set of rings, and fifth in the last decade? Is anyone else going to join the party? Let's find out. Round 20: ....Sitache 2-3 Lutrul - 2-1, 3-12, 5-8, 6-14, 4-3 ....Cheshek 2-3 National - 2-6, 3-4, 11-10, 1-0, 1-3 .....Hokrof 2-3 Semyof - 2-8, 5-7, 5-4, 4-9, 4-2 .A.Canaries 1-4 Akashemo - 5-6(11), 6-4, 2-6, 2-24, 2-5 Mighty Oaks 2-3 Tsapna - 3-1, 7-6(11), 1-7, 1-3, 2-3 ....Nokelto 2-3 Keleri - 9-4, 3-5, 15-10, 2-12, 11-12(10) .....Kupore 4-1 Muni - 5-1, 6-5(10), 5-2, 4-6, 7-6 ..A.Spirits 1-4 Kepmem - 1-2, 3-6, 11-2, 2-9, 3-11 ....Fampalo 0-5 Amnanache - 6-8, 3-6, 3-4, 1-8, 2-5(10) ..Sh.Eagles 2-3 Pasataki - 6-5, 8-3, 3-7, 6-12, 4-5(10) Both title contenders slip here on the road, but the Spirits' result is much worse, dropping an extra game against a team who, not that long ago, were in the relegation battle (though Kepmem do appear to be fairly safe at this juncture). Cheshek 11, National 10: While this wasn't the craziest game of all time, six lead changes in a single game is an awful lot. Cheshek lost leads of 2-0, 4-3, and 9-8 before taking the lead for good in the 8th, while National led 3-2, 8-4, and 10-9 in the interim. Cheshek's star OF Tukefa Atswue had the final blow with an eighth-inning HR. Round 21: ...National 1-4 Kupore - 5-10, 2-9, 0-3, 0-3, 7-5 .....Semyof 3-2 Nokelto - 0-3, 8-5, 8-9(10), 6-4, 9-5(10) .....Keleri 3-2 Cheshek - 2-6, 9-5, 7-3, 4-2, 2-4 .....Kepmem 2-3 Sitache - 1-5, 6-3, 3-15, 4-7, 4-1 .......Muni 3-2 A.Canaries - 10-5, 3-2, 1-5, 4-2, 3-5 ..Amnanache 2-3 A.Spirits - 3-7, 2-10, 4-3, 6-9, 7-5 ...Akashemo 2-3 Fampalo - 4-6, 9-7, 1-2, 5-6(11), 4-1 .....Tsapna 3-2 Hokrof - 4-3, 7-2, 6-5, 7-8(10), 0-3 ...Pasataki 1-4 Mighty Oaks - 0-7, 6-3, 5-9, 1-5, 6-7 .....Lutrul 2-3 Sh.Eagles - 2-3, 8-4, 2-4, 2-4, 8-4 Fampalo 2, Akashemo 1: In a tale unique to modern baseball, Akashemo SP Lumekatse Merefife was pulled after 7 no-hit innings in the middle game of this set. Fitotaro Faseltsa allowed the first hit, to light-hitting Fampalo catcher Tsol Kaloncha, but then league leader in saves Monon Watafo was unable to hold the 1-0 lead in the ninth, allowing a game-winning double by Chasaro Yutepe. For Watafo, the runs were unearned due to an error earlier in the inning, but the loss of both the no-hitter and the game stings much worse. Canaries 5, Muni 3: without star CF Solo Sipet, Muni 1B Nerutsok Uchotsela is trying to do it all himself. This game is a perfect example of why that does not work very often in baseball! Uchotsela homered his first two times up in this game, and delivered an RBI double in the 8th... but those were three of his team's 5 hits, no one was on base for his homers, and they lose 5-3 to the only team in the league whose record is worse than theirs. Lutrul 8, Shunna Eagles 4 (the latter): Lutrul 2B Poem Meste had the season's fifth 3-homer game in this win, driving in 7 runs. His last homer was fully the difference in the game, a sixth-inning grand slam off of Teao Mesa that extended a 4-3 lead to 8-3. Meste spent the prior six years playing for Muni, 5 of those in the EL, and here he is tormenting Muni's biggest rival. Round 22: .....Keleri 4-1 Sh.Eagles - 3-4, 6-5(10), 6-2, 7-0, 8-3 .....Kepmem 2-3 Cheshek - 1-6, 2-4, 4-3, 1-4, 5-4(10) .....Lutrul 3-2 Nokelto - 11-3, 2-16, 4-2, 6-2, 3-7 ...National 3-2 Sitache - 6-2, 3-2, 5-1, 2-3, 3-5 .....Semyof 0-5 Mighty Oaks - 5-7, 1-8, 1-2, 6-7, 5-6 ...Akashemo 1-4 Hokrof - 1-4, 2-5, 11-1, 9-10, 6-8 .....Tsapna 2-3 A.Spirits - 7-2, 12-10, 3-8, 0-5, 1-7 .......Muni 1-4 Fampalo - 11-13, 8-10, 0-10, 7-6, 2-6 ...Pasataki 2-3 Kupore - 6-5, 4-5, 5-7, 2-9, 9-5 ..Amnanache 3-2 A.Canaries - 1-5, 12-0, 7-0, 0-3, 7-1 National 3, Sitache 2: I think this is the first bench-clearing incident of the season, at least that I can remember. National SS Anesa Mikesash, the league leader in steals, and Sitache RP Lerana Rwesu were ejected in the 6th inning after a HBP. The incident came immediately after National 3B Pelik Yelishike hit a 3-run homer that just squeaked over the wall in the left field corner. Sitache would win two of the remaining three games in the series with National's star out, so mission accomplished? Keleri 7, Eagles 0: A shutout for Keleri SP Pusituli Yutepe, with four hits allowed. The Eagles have struggled to score but Yutepe still carved them up pretty good. Fampalo 6, Muni 2: Fampalo RF Santa Chewefa drove in all six runs for his club today on a pair of home runs, including a walk-off grand slam off Muni's Fitsini Tsanoso. Standings: . . .W..L -- Mighty Oaks 77 33 -- ..A.Spirits 71 39 -- ....Cheshek 66 44 +1 .....Keleri 65 45 -1 ....Fampalo 65 45 -- .....Tsapna 63 47 -- ..Amnanache 60 50 +2 .....Kupore 57 53 -1 ...Pasataki 56 54 -1 ...Akashemo 56 54 -- ...National 51 59 +1 .....Kepmem 51 59 +2 .....Lutrul 50 60 -- ....Sitache 50 60 -3 ..Sh.Eagles 49 61 +1 .....Hokrof 48 62 -1 ....Nokelto 47 63 -- .....Semyof 44 66 -- .......Muni 38 72 -- .A.Canaries 36 74 A big surge for the Oaks to discourage the title challenger Spirits, who lose four games' worth of ground. Also a strong period for Kupore (11-4), who have asserted themselves as a potential top-half team. Next week, the top 3 teams are all on the road, with the marquee series being the Spirits at Keleri on the weekend. Round 24 is a relatively recent runback, with the away teams having hosted the home teams in round 18. Round 23: Mighty Oaks vs. Muni Aroketsil Spirits vs. National Fampalo vs. Tsapna Aroketsil Canaries vs. Pasataki Galaxy Nokelto Scouts vs. Akashemo Kupore vs. Lutrul Cheshek vs. Semyof Hokrof vs. Kepmem Sitache vs. Keleri Shunna Eagles vs. Amnanache Round 24: Kupore vs. Semyof Mighty Oaks vs. Akashemo Shunna Eagles vs. National Cheshek vs. Amnanache Aroketsil Spirits vs. Keleri Hokrof vs. Muni Nokelto Scouts vs. Pasataki Galaxy Aroketsil Canaries vs. Lutrul Fampalo vs. Kepmem Sitache vs. Tsapna |

Week 12: July 11-22
Round 23: Mighty Oaks 3-2 Muni - 6-5, 3-6, 10-4, 4-10, 6-5(11) ..A.Spirits 1-4 National - 9-8(10), 0-3, 0-20, 1-13, 2-8 ....Fampalo 1-4 Tsapna - 6-9, 3-1, 1-5, 0-5, 8-9 .A.Canaries 0-5 Pasataki - 1-2, 5-9, 1-2(10), 0-5, 4-5 ....Nokelto 2-3 Akashemo - 1-10, 6-8, 2-9, 9-7, 5-4 .....Kupore 2-3 Lutrul - 4-5, 1-2, 19-1, 2-1, 1-4 ....Cheshek 3-2 Semyof - 6-5, 2-4, 5-2, 1-8, 8-3 .....Hokrof 3-2 Kepmem - 2-6, 6-4, 3-4, 8-7, 15-3 ....Sitache 3-2 Keleri - 10-3, 2-3, 9-4, 4-5, 9-2 ..Sh.Eagles 3-2 Amnanache - 6-0, 0-1, 1-0, 7-4, 0-4 National 20, Aroketsil Spirits 0: I think in the annals of history, we will view this as the game that ended the title race. It's only July 14 as this is happening, but Oaks fans are celebrating. National SP Lohy Awia threw a 3-hitter while his team unloaded a six-homer, 21-hit performance on Spirits pitching. National 13, Aroketsil Spirits 1: Stop, stop, they're already dead! National RF Pumona Kakosuta becomes the first player in the EL this season to record six hits in a single game, going 6-6 with a two-run homer and a pair of two-run doubles to drive in 6 altogether. With two hits the previous day, Kakosuta outhit the entire Spirits team over a period of two games, 8 to 7. No EL player has ever recorded 7 hits in a game, so that's something to look out for. Round 24: .....Kupore 1-4 Semyof - 1-5, 1-8, 10-7(11), 1-7, 4-6 Mighty Oaks 3-2 Akashemo - 9-10, 8-5, 6-1, 9-5, 1-4 ..Sh.Eagles 4-1 National - 13-8, 6-5, 4-2, 6-1, 3-4(10) ....Cheshek 1-4 Amnanache - 4-1, 3-7, 2-4, 3-4, 0-4 ..A.Spirits 1-4 Keleri - 10-2, 7-9, 5-11, 3-5, 4-5 .....Hokrof 4-1 Muni - 3-2, 4-3(10), 4-2, 5-4, 5-10 ....Nokelto 2-3 Pasataki - 4-0, 0-5, 2-7, 8-13, 13-4 .A.Canaries 4-1 Lutrul - 8-1, 8-5(10), 2-1, 4-5(10), 9-3 ....Fampalo 1-4 Kepmem - 5-2, 3-5, 3-4, 3-6, 3-5 ....Sitache 1-4 Tsapna - 3-12, 4-5, 1-6, 11-6, 4-10 Keleri take four of five in the weekend's marquee series, pulling to within two games of the second-place Spirits. The Oaks, meanwhile, have increased their lead to ten games. This is also the first series win for the Canaries since... the last time they faced Lutrul, back in round 18. If Lutrul were to get relegated (and they're now just four games clear) this will be something to look back on. Eagles 13, National 8: Eagles CF Pamaso Soreko has a double, two home runs, and 7 RBI in this series-opening road win. Soreko is only in the lineup due to an injury to regular CF Pomi Peshti, and hasn't had a great year, but took advantage here. The Eagles scored 11 runs in the final three innings, overcoming what had been a 5-2 deficit. Sitache 11, Tsapna 6: Sitache CF Rolupi Shekesu smashes three home runs from the leadoff spot to power his club to a win. The first two were solo shots, one leading off the game, and the third was a grand slam that broke a 4-2 game open. Unfortunately, it was Sitache’s only win in the series! Standings:...W..L -- Mighty Oaks 83 37 -- ..A.Spirits 73 47 +1 .....Keleri 71 49 +2 .....Tsapna 71 49 -2 ....Cheshek 70 50 -1 ....Fampalo 67 53 -- ..Amnanache 66 54 +1 ...Pasataki 64 56 +1 ...Akashemo 61 59 -2 .....Kupore 60 60 +1 .....Kepmem 57 63 -1 ...National 56 64 +2 ..Sh.Eagles 56 64 +2 .....Hokrof 55 65 -2 .....Lutrul 54 66 -2 ....Sitache 54 66 -- ....Nokelto 51 69 -------------------- -- .....Semyof 50 70 -- .......Muni 41 79 -- .A.Canaries 40 80 The title race feels over, to be honest, but there's plenty more to play for. Will the Spirits surpass their all-time bests of 111 wins and 4th place? Or Cheshek, with their bests of 110 wins and 6th place? Will Keleri extend their streak of finishing in the top 3 to eight straight years? Can Pasataki break the record for most wins by a newly promoted team by surpassing 2013 Nokir's 108-82 mark? And of course, who will be relegated? Muni and the Canaries' seasons look well and truly over, but a 6-4 week from Semyof has pulled them within one game of safety. 70 games left to see who else will get the drop! IMO, only the top 8 teams are truly safe, although it would take a big collapse from Akashemo or Kupore to go down from this point. It typically takes around 75 wins to secure EL safety, though last season Wikyats Athletic tied the best record for a relegated team at 79-111. Muni is expecting to have CF Solo Sipet back for the start of their round 26 series vs. neighbors National. There's a big hole to climb, but... maybe? Round 25: National vs. Fampalo Keleri vs. Kupore Amnanache vs. Mighty Oaks Tsapna vs. Cheshek Muni vs. Nokelto Scouts Pasataki Galaxy vs. Sitache Kepmem vs. Shunna Eagles Semyof vs. Aroketsil Canaries Lutrul vs. Hokrof Akashemo vs. Aroketsil Spirits Round 26: Sitache vs. Shunna Eagles Muni vs. National Pasataki Galaxy vs. Keleri Mighty Oaks vs. Kupore Aroketsil Canaries vs. Nokelto Scouts Semyof vs. Lutrul Kepmem vs. Akashemo Fampalo vs. Cheshek Hokrof vs. Aroketsil Spirits Amnanache vs. Tsapna |

Week 13: July 23-August 3
Round 25: ...National 0-5 Fampalo - 3-8, 2-6, 0-7, 3-4(10), 2-3 .....Keleri 3-2 Kupore - 2-14, 6-11, 7-6, 10-2, 3-0 ..Amnanache 2-3 Mighty Oaks - 1-3, 10-6, 0-7, 7-5, 3-4 .....Tsapna 3-2 Cheshek - 1-4, 9-0, 10-3, 6-1, 0-7 .......Muni 1-4 Nokelto - 1-4, 2-4, 3-4, 2-7, 3-0 ...Pasataki 3-2 Sitache - 5-6, 7-9, 8-3, 8-7, 5-3 .....Kepmem 2-3 Sh.Eagles - 2-3, 5-6, 7-0, 6-5, 8-14 .....Semyof 1-4 A.Canaries - 6-4, 3-4(10), 4-5(12), 3-5, 1-8 .....Lutrul 3-2 Hokrof - 5-4, 1-6, 4-3, 6-4, 2-3 ...Akashemo 4-1 A.Spirits - 3-4(10), 10-6(10), 10-2, 11-9, 4-2 Tsapna 10, Cheshek 3: A 3-homer day for Tsapna 1B Safishi Ifata leads the way here, as he drove in five runs. RF Iti Tashete added two solo blasts from the leadoff spot. Akashemo 11, Aroketsil Spirits 9: a bad series for the reeling Spirits was almost home to one of the EL's all-time great comebacks. Down 11-4 with two outs in the 9th and no one on, the Spirits rattled off six consecutive baserunners to bring the tying run to the plate, but CF Roshuere Nesatapame struck out against Akashemo closer Monon Watafo, who they'd been hoping not to use in the game. Shunna Eagles 14, Kepmem 8: also comeback vibes here - the Eagles led 14-0 after five innings, but Kepmem scored at least once in each of the final four frames to make their hosts sweat. Round 26: ....Sitache 2-3 Sh.Eagles - 4-3, 2-3, 0-4, 6-5(10), 1-6 .......Muni 1-4 National - 2-3, 7-6, 2-3, 0-1(10), 2-3 ...Pasataki 4-1 Keleri - 16-5, 3-7, 11-4, 6-4, 5-3 Mighty Oaks 4-1 Kupore - 4-2, 3-1, 11-7, 4-6, 6-3 .A.Canaries 3-2 Nokelto - 3-5, 7-0, 3-5, 12-9(10), 4-2 .....Semyof 1-4 Lutrul - 3-5, 10-4, 0-1, 4-8, 0-4 .....Kepmem 4-1 Akashemo - 6-3, 6-4, 7-4(11), 2-0, 6-12 ....Fampalo 2-3 Cheshek - 1-2, 2-1, 14-0, 2-4, 1-10 .....Hokrof 2-3 A.Spirits - 8-2, 5-4, 2-14, 2-5, 2-4 ..Amnanache 2-3 Tsapna - 1-7, 0-5, 5-4, 3-0, 3-4 Fampalo 14, Cheshek 0, and Akashemo 12, Kepmem 6: Fampalo SS Wyku Tofpalts and Akashemo LF Putta Faseltsa finished a single away from the cycle in their respective games. You don't normally see that being the stumbling block. Two EL players have hit for the cycle this season, but both were all the way back in round 4 (March 20-24). Standings:...W..L -- Mighty Oaks 90 40 +2 .....Tsapna 77 53 -1 ..A.Spirits 77 53 -1 .....Keleri 75 55 -- ....Cheshek 75 55 -- ....Fampalo 74 56 +1 ...Pasataki 71 59 -1 ..Amnanache 70 60 -- ...Akashemo 66 64 -- .....Kupore 63 67 -- .....Kepmem 63 67 +1 ..Sh.Eagles 62 68 +2 .....Lutrul 61 69 -2 ...National 60 70 -1 .....Hokrof 59 71 -- ....Sitache 58 72 -- ....Nokelto 57 73 -------------------- -- .....Semyof 52 78 +1 .A.Canaries 47 83 -1 .......Muni 43 87 Tsapna officially move up into second place, having a much superior run differential to the Spirits (+158 to +69). Have to imagine they will hold that tiebreaker the rest of the season. A terrible week for Semyof, going 2-8 and widening the gap between them and safety to five games. The Canaries had a good week, winning two series albeit against fellow relegation-caliber opposition. Still worth shouting out. The return series for Oaks vs. Spirits is up next week - if the Spirits sweep, then I might start seasoning some crow to eat. Round 27: Aroketsil Spirits vs. Pasataki Galaxy Tsapna vs. Kepmem Akashemo vs. Muni Lutrul vs. Fampalo Nokelto Scouts vs. Mighty Oaks Kupore vs. Sitache National vs. Amnanache Shunna Eagles vs. Aroketsil Canaries Keleri vs. Semyof Cheshek vs. Hokrof Round 28: Mighty Oaks vs. Aroketsil Spirits Pasataki Galaxy vs. Muni Sitache vs. Amnanache Aroketsil Canaries vs. Hokrof Semyof vs. Kepmem Kupore vs. Akashemo Nokelto Scouts vs. Tsapna Lutrul vs. Cheshek Shunna Eagles vs. Fampalo Keleri vs. National |

Note: due to a game crash, the next few weeks originally went differently. I'm opting to replace the posts to avoid confusion - but you may see a time disconnect below while I'm fixing things.

Week 14 Redux: August 4-15
So, we go back. When we last saved, the Oaks were 13 games in front of the field at 90-40, with Tsapna and Aroketsil Spirits tied for second place, Tsapna ahead on run differential. Will the Oaks still cruise toward titletown? (probably) The relegation battle had been quite interesting with 20 games to go, but now there are 60 games to go again. The big winners are for the rash of star player injuries who will get a chance to finish the season healthy. I'm thinking especially of Amnanache SP Epencho Latsychano, who returns to the top of the Pitcher of the Year leaderboard in my mind. Round 27: ..A.Spirits 5-0 Pasataki - 15-9, 4-2, 3-2, 8-7, 20-11 .....Tsapna 3-2 Kepmem - 9-3, 6-13, 6-2, 7-1, 6-7 ...Akashemo 2-3 Muni - 1-5, 3-1, 4-5, 3-2, 1-3 .....Lutrul 0-5 Fampalo - 6-7, 0-3, 3-7, 3-4, 0-2 ....Nokelto 2-3 Mighty Oaks - 4-7, 10-3, 12-6, 2-9, 1-7 .....Kupore 4-1 Sitache - 2-4, 12-4, 10-0, 7-6, 6-0 ...National 2-3 Amnanache - 2-3, 0-13, 2-3(11), 4-3, 5-3 ..Sh.Eagles 2-3 A.Canaries - 1-5, 9-1, 4-3, 2-3(11), 1-4 .....Keleri 3-2 Semyof - 3-1, 1-9, 3-2(11), 9-11, 4-2(10) ....Cheshek 3-2 Hokrof - 18-0, 3-2, 1-6, 0-3, 5-3 Some massive scores in round 27, with six games featuring at least 18 runs scored. The big winners of the mulligan this round were the Spirits, who got to undo a series loss at Pasataki and swept them instead. Kupore 12, Sitache 4: Kupore 1B Fomo Tirma, who looks likely to run away with the batting title, was the power source for Kupore in this win up north. Tirma hit 3 HR and drove in 6, and teammate 3B Koraralu Fatsi hit a grand slam to cap things off. Nokelto Scouts 12, Mighty Oaks 6: Scouts CF Lara Tsimelefo was a single short of the cycle in this one, driving in 5 and scoring 3 runs, as Nokelto put a scare into the champs by winning two of the first three in their series. Aroketsil Spirits 20, Pasataki Galaxy 11: Looking to avoid a sweep, the Galaxy must have felt great chasing Spirits spot starter Fumiecho Hefie in the second inning. They took an 8-1 lead in that frame, and led 11-3 after 4, before 17 unanswered Spirits runs made it a laugher in the other direction. Spirits 1B Peku Karwo had four extra-base hits in the game, and Rolana Rekesu hit a pair of three-run homers. Semyof 11, Keleri 9: Semyof overcame a 7-0 deficit to win this game, having had starter Sopota Tsimpese chased in the 2nd inning. A 7-run 6th game Semyof the lead for good, headlined by the go-ahead 3-run homer from SS Chatiri Tmeniwa, which would have been a grand slam if not for the wild pitch thrown the pitch before. Kepmem 7, Tsapna 6: Kepmem 3B Kala Koshynae went hero-mode in this one, going 5-5 with a pair of home runs, including the walk-off shot in the 9th. All 7 Kepmem runs scored on a set of five homers. Round 28: Mighty Oaks 4-1 A.Spirits - 4-3(10), 1-4, 14-5, 4-1, 5-4(10) ...Pasataki 1-4 Muni - 2-5, 13-15, 5-19, 5-6(10), 6-2 ....Sitache 2-3 Amnanache - 1-2, 7-8, 5-3, 6-4(10), 1-6 .A.Canaries 2-3 Hokrof - 3-1, 0-3, 4-6, 6-10(13), 12-5 .....Semyof 3-2 Kepmem - 11-3, 6-5, 4-2, 3-12, 5-6 .....Kupore 2-3 Akashemo - 1-4, 2-3(10), 10-5, 7-6, 2-11 ....Nokelto 2-3 Tsapna - 1-3, 1-6, 3-1, 2-3, 6-3 .....Lutrul 3-2 Cheshek 5-4, 2-5, 0-5, 8-2, 5-3 ..Sh.Eagles 1-4 Fampalo - 1-9, 2-4, 3-6, 15-5, 1-10 .....Keleri 0-5 National - 4-6(10), 2-3(10), 2-4, 1-3, 1-4 Muni 15, Pasataki Galaxy 13: not a great week for Pasataki pitching. This game was 13-13 after the fourth inning, then the bullpens stabilized. Muni 19, Galaxy 5: Muni 1B Nerutsok Uchotsela was the star today, hitting three HR and driving in 5. Standings:.......W..L -- Mighty Oaks..97 43 -- .....Tsapna..83 57 +3 ....Fampalo..83 57 -1 ..A.Spirits..83 57 -- ....Cheshek..80 60 -2 .....Keleri..78 62 +1 ..Amnanache..76 64 -1 ...Pasataki..72 68 -- ...Akashemo..71 69 -- .....Kupore..69 71 -1 .....Kepmem..67 73 -1 ..Sh.Eagles..65 75 -1 .....Lutrul..64 76 +3 ...National..67 73 -- .....Hokrof..64 76 -- ....Sitache..61 79 -- ....Nokelto..61 79 -------------------- -- .....Semyof..57 83 -- .A.Canaries..52 88 -- .......Muni..50 90 So, the Oaks' lead balloons to 14 games with 50 to play. This time for real? The relegation battle seems to be less interesting than in the prime timeline - Nokelto had a pretty good week here. Round 29: National vs. Mighty Oaks Aroketsil Spirits vs. Aroketsil Canaries Hokrof vs. Nokelto Scouts Akashemo vs. Sitache Amnanache vs. Lutrul Cheshek vs. Shunna Eagles Muni vs. Semyof Kepmem vs. Pasataki Galaxy Fampalo vs. Keleri Tsapna vs. Kupore Round 30: Nokelto Scouts vs. Fampalo Mighty Oaks vs. Hokrof Shunna Eagles vs. Tsapna Keleri vs. Muni Pasataki Galaxy vs. Amnanache Kupore vs. Aroketsil Spirits Aroketsil Canaries vs. Kepmem Sitache vs. Cheshek Lutrul vs. National Semyof vs. Akashemo Last edited by Ruwisc; 03-03-2025 at 07:50 PM. |

Week 15 Redux: August 16-27
Round 29: ...National 2-3 Mighty Oaks - 3-0, 2-7, 5-6, 3-9, 5-2 ..A.Spirits 3-2 A.Canaries - 3-1, 3-4, 11-3, 6-1, 2-12 .....Hokrof 2-3 Nokelto - 0-1, 6-7, 3-6, 4-3, 10-9 ...Akashemo 2-3 Sitache - 1-8, 5-6, 13-8, 4-6, 4-3 ..Amnanache 2-3 Lutrul - 5-1, 4-7, 6-5(10), 3-8, 5-11 ....Cheshek 3-2 Sh.Eagles - 2-0, 6-0, 2-4, 4-3, 2-6 .......Muni 2-3 Semyof - 1-2, 3-9, 7-5, 10-2, 9-5 .....Kepmem 1-4 Pasataki - 2-4, 4-11, 6-12, 0-3, 5-2 ....Fampalo 2-3 Keleri - 7-2, 3-1, 2-3, 2-5, 5-15 .....Tsapna 4-1 Kupore - 12-5, 16-5, 0-7, 10-3, 17-2 A pretty mild set of games, aside from Tsapna exploding for 55 runs in their four wins in Somno sandwiched around a Neshi Misorihula masterpiece for Kupore. National 3, Mighty Oaks 0: One of the best-pitched games of the season, and probably the best not to be credited as a shutout. National SP Atsi Lapa, who has missed a couple of months spread across several different injuries this season, suddenly shut down the champs with just two hits allowed over 8 innings. Muni 7, Semyof 5: Muni CF Solo Sipet does it all once again, delivering a triple and two home runs as the Muni bullpen just barely held off a Semyof comeback from up 7-0. Round 30: ....Nokelto 2-3 Fampalo - 3-5, 6-2, 7-1, 3-4, 0-11 Mighty Oaks 4-1 Hokrof - 4-3, 9-3, 1-3, 8-4, 4-1 ..Sh.Eagles 1-4 Tsapna - 2-8, 3-0, 2-10, 3-7, 0-6 .....Keleri 4-1 Muni - 0-5, 10-2, 5-2, 7-1, 13-2 ...Pasataki 3-2 Amnanache - 2-3, 9-3, 0-3, 6-4, 5-2 .....Kupore 2-3 A.Spirits - 8-1, 1-5, 8-4, 4-6, 4-5 .A.Canaries 3-2 Kepmem - 0-1, 3-1, 3-2, 6-4, 1-2 ....Sitache 3-2 Cheshek - 4-2, 3-4, 1-8, 2-1, 7-3 .....Lutrul 2-3 National - 4-9, 3-2, 1-8, 4-3(10), 4-8 .....Semyof 0-5 Akashemo - 4-11, 1-9, 1-3, 1-2, 7-8(10) Muni 5, Keleri 0: A shutout for Muni SP Tsarase Roshoshe, a three-hitter with just one walk. Keleri are still pretty banged up on the position player side and are actually only carrying ten hitters at the moment. That number should hopefully climb to 12 next week with some injury returns. Standings:.......W..L -- Mighty Oaks.104 46 -- .....Tsapna..91 59 +1 ..A.Spirits..89 61 -1 ....Fampalo..88 62 +1 .....Keleri..85 65 -1 ....Cheshek..85 65 -- ..Amnanache..80 70 -- ...Pasataki..79 71 -- ...Akashemo..78 72 +4 ...National..72 78 -1 .....Kupore..72 78 -1 .....Kepmem..70 80 -- .....Lutrul..69 81 -2 ..Sh.Eagles..68 82 +1 ....Sitache..67 83 -1 .....Hokrof..67 83 -- ....Nokelto..66 84 -------------------- -- .....Semyof..59 91 -- .A.Canaries..57 93 -- .......Muni..54 96 With 40 games left now, the Oaks' lead has shrunk by a game, but it'd still take a miracle for Tsapna or anyone else to get them. The gap to the relegation zone has grown, now up to 7 games with Semyof's tough week. They have a better run differential, and Pythag record, than Sitache, Hokrof, or Nokelto, but that's why we count the wins and not the runs. Round 31: Hokrof vs. Pasataki Galaxy Cheshek vs. Kupore Kepmem vs. Keleri Aroketsil Spirits vs. Sitache National vs. Aroketsil Canaries Akashemo vs. Lutrul Fampalo vs. Mighty Oaks Amnanache vs. Nokelto Scouts Muni vs. Shunna Eagles Tsapna vs. Semyof Round 32: Nokelto Scouts vs. Cheshek Sitache vs. Fampalo Keleri vs. Amnanache Shunna Eagles vs. Aroketsil Spirits Mighty Oaks vs. Kepmem Kupore vs. Hokrof Lutrul vs. Muni Pasataki Galaxy vs. Akashemo Aroketsil Canaries vs. Tsapna Semyof vs. National Last edited by Ruwisc; 03-03-2025 at 07:51 PM. |

2021 Three-Quarter Pole – Stats Update
EL leaderboards to mark the three-quarter point of the season. All teams have played 150 of their 190-game schedule: Batting race: Fomo Tirma (KUP, 1B): .383 Yaropatso Kesia (PGAL, CF): .354 Peyaka Sefenera (OAKS, RF): .344 Kesia has come on a lot the last few weeks - the 19-year-old is in his first EL season, after two years with Pelpitimochu United. He's been hitting right in front of Apia Lela lately, a good recipe for success for a young player. Home runs: Rolana Rekesu (ASPI, 3B): 45 Lesayo Sofiulo (KEL, LF): 42 Kala Koshynae (KEP, 3B): 40 Rekesu has only hit two HR in his last 15 games, but 6 in the previous series at Pasataki have rocketed him into the league lead. RBI: Wia Merefife (PGAL, 1B): 147 Safishi Ifata (ZAP, 1B): 129 Peku Karwo (ASPI, RF): 129 Merefife has 52 RBI in his last 32 games, and has raised his OPS by nearly 100 points in that time frame. For a guy who was already pretty well established to this point, Merefife has gone to another level. Position player WAR: Wyku Tofpalts (FAM, SS): 9.9 Apia Lela (PGAL, 2B): 9.9 Wasi Tsewayo (ASPI, SS): 9.2 Tofpalts just took over from Lela, who had been the season-long leader in this category, by what must be a small decimal. Stolen bases: Aroshop Lapa (ACAN, SS): 60 Kurano Shosotsoke (ZAP, 2B): 58 Lawori El (ZAP, SS): 56 Lapa has run absolutely wild in the second half so far, 23 steals in the last 55 games. The Tsapna middle infield duo have led the charge for Tsapna to overtake Fampalo as the league's running-est team. All of these dudes have more SB than four EL teams - Lutrul as a team have only stolen 29 bases total, for example. ERA: Epencho Latsychano (AMN): 2.42 Santa Ketitu (NAT): 2.56 Notsimi Feshasu (OAKS): 2.66 Latsychano might be the leader in the clubhouse as far as the Pitcher of the Year race goes, even with a sub-.500 record. Unbelievably, he went 0-6 in July. He seems to have pulled out of that skid, with a streak of six straight quality starts broken only by failing to go 6 innings against the Galaxy last week. Wins: Notsimi Feshasu (OAKS): 21 Sefti Merefife (ZAP): 19 Mua Wyranu (ZAP): 16 Feshasu and Merefife were co-leaders at the halfway mark with 12, and now each have recorded eight wins in 11 starts since then. Saves: Lisou Nikera (PGAL): 39 Monon Watafo (AKAU): 39 Mocheu Mishe (SIT): 38 Autsu Sikiura (HOK): 38 Rukakili Shiyetsorisu (CEX): 38 Six other pitchers have at least 30 saves, so nobody's running away with this one. Strikeouts: Laotso Tirionu (AMN): 204 Epencho Latsychano (AMN): 201 Aro Ipo (SIT): 197 I mentioned Tirionu's innings problem previously. He has remedied that a little bit, going at least 5 2/3 in four straight starts (trust me, that's an improvement). Pitcher WAR: Epencho Latsychano (AMN): 7.4 Aro Ipo (SIT): 7.4 Santa Ketitu (NAT): 6.1 Very close race between Latsychano and Ipo. Neither's team is particularly good, but none of the great teams have pitchers who are really under award consideration except for maybe Mighty Oaks' Notsimi Feshasu. ---------- Lower Leagues Update Second League The race to join the 2022 Elite League currently looks like this: ![]() Standings:..........W..L +2 ......Mithazni.100 50 -1 ......Westline..98 52 +1 .Swans Menmapa..89 61 -------------------------------- +1 ...Otahel City..88 62 -3 .......Tishmin..86 64 -- ....Yoho Bears..84 66 -- .........Nokir..84 66 +2 ........Onesti..78 72 -1 Ransu Shockers..76 64 +4 .......Takanse..73 77 +4 .........Linir..72 78 -- Tenshe. Rubies..71 79 -2 ..........Meka..70 80 -5 .......Rasenok..68 82 +1 ...Nokelto Utd..66 84 -3 ....Nipte City..66 84 -------------------------------- +1 ...Ransu Ports..63 87 +2 ...Wikyats Ath..58 92 -- ....Feshuyalya..55 95 -3 ......Sachlihe..55 95 Going 42-13 since the last update has elevated Mithazni (MITT-hots-nee) to the cusp of an EL return after relegation last year. Westline, EL champions in 1999, are almost sure to join them, but the third spot is a mystery. I'm rooting for one of the current leaders, either the Swans or Otahel, to return. Northern Premier League ![]() Standings:............W..L -- Pelpitimochu Utd.106 44 +1 .........Penhara..89 61 -------------------------------- -1 .Alilia Captains..88 62 +2 .........Loshtsi..85 65 -1 ...Sunoki Hearts..80 70 +6 .Lempisho United..78 72 +3 ..........Yasral..78 72 -1 .....Lisa United..78 72 -4 Sapoyo Tortoises..75 75 +6 ...........Losap..73 77 +3 ...Sowichark Utd..71 79 +3 .Tsutonsu United..71 79 -4 Enihaka Cyclones..71 79 -1 ............Kine..70 80 -7 ...........Lacho..70 80 +2 ....Fampalo City..67 83 -------------------------------- -6 .........Shalish..66 84 -1 ............Pale..64 86 -- ........Moonside..61 89 -- ............Fure..59 91 Pelpitimochu United (Pelpitimochu, TA) finished dead last in the 2L last year, in their first year at that level. They will most definitely get another chance after blitzing the NPL all season. The Captains were the other team relegated to this league last season, so there's a chance of a very clean return. Penhara is the only team currently outside the top two tiers to have won an EL championship, having captured the 2001 crown. Southern Premier League ![]() Standings:............W..L -- ...........Wichku 99 51 +5 ....Hefem Rangers 92 58 -------------------------------- -1 ..........Amkutan 91 59 -1 ....Mamtul Wolves 90 60 -1 ..........Shepero 87 63 -1 Killitash Bayside 84 66 +3 .South Shore Aksa 83 67 -- .............Fese 83 67 -3 ........Takelehun 78 72 -1 ..Killitash Stars 73 77 -- .....Tinshenikosh 73 77 +1 ..........Himespo 71 79 +3 ...Hechemi United 70 80 -2 ............Fachi 69 81 -1 ...........Sheshu 64 86 +1 ...Hokrof Beavers 63 87 -------------------------------- -2 .Killitash Giants 63 87 +1 ...Hefem Monarchs 61 89 -1 .......Tokos City 57 93 -- .........NK Royan 49 101 Wichku (Aksa, ZA) look pretty solid now - this would be their first ever promotion to the Second League. The Rangers are, surprisingly, the only team in this group that has played in the EL before, with 16 top-level seasons under their belt, but haven't been in the EL since 2010. Amkutan and outside shots Bayside, South Shore and Fese would all also hypothetically make their 2L debuts with a promotion. The run differential difference between the Beavers and Giants across the relegation line is just 2 runs, so that situation is very fluid. Week 16 Redux: August 28-September 8
Round 31: .....Hokrof 1-4 Pasataki - 3-8, 4-5, 5-4, 2-7, 0-1(10) ....Cheshek 1-4 Kupore - 0-4, 7-8(13), 14-7, 6-7(10), 2-12 .....Kepmem 2-3 Keleri - 1-7, 5-1, 11-7, 0-7, 4-5 ..A.Spirits 4-1 Sitache - 7-4, 3-2, 4-2, 8-6(11), 1-5 ...National 2-3 A.Canaries - 4-7, 7-5(12), 3-7, 5-7, 7-4 ...Akashemo 3-2 Lutrul - 8-0, 0-3, 5-4, 2-11, 12-0 ....Fampalo 2-3 Mighty Oaks - 7-4, 4-3, 5-11, 2-7, 6-9 ..Amnanache 4-1 Nokelto - 8-4, 0-6, 8-2, 5-4, 4-3 .......Muni 2-3 Sh.Eagles - 5-6, 2-7, 3-2, 9-3, 3-10 .....Tsapna 4-1 Semyof - 5-2, 10-1, 7-8, 11-0, 7-1 Akashemo 8, Lutrul 0: Akashemo SP Somashe Renlese drops a 3-hit shutout, with just 1 walk allowed. It's the first complete game recorded by an Akashemo pitcher all year, much less a shutout. Fampalo 4, Mighty Oaks 3: Mighty Oaks SP Kiosho Epofemi suffered a ruptured disc, exiting in the third inning of this eventual loss. He is expected to miss not just the rest of this year, but nearly all of next season as well. Two Oaks relievers were also pulled with injuries, but not serious ones. Round 32: ....Nokelto 4-1 Cheshek - 7-4, 4-6, 8-6, 3-1, 3-0 ....Sitache 4-1 Fampalo - 9-1, 5-4, 0-3, 7-1, 8-3 .....Keleri 2-3 Amnanache - 2-3(10), 4-2, 3-4, 7-5, 2-5 ..Sh.Eagles 4-1 A.Spirits - 7-4, 5-3(10), 5-1(10), 5-6, 6-3 Mighty Oaks 4-1 Kepmem - 9-6, 15-4, 1-9, 3-1, 3-1 .....Kupore 2-3 Hokrof - 6-7, 7-8(10), 5-1, 1-3, 9-2 .....Lutrul 2-3 Muni - 1-3, 3-4, 4-5(10), 8-4, 10-1 ...Pasataki 4-1 Akashemo - 7-1, 5-7, 3-1, 9-4, 8-4 .A.Canaries 2-3 Tsapna - 2-1, 3-4, 2-3(10), 1-6, 5-2 .....Semyof 5-0 National - 5-3, 4-2, 9-3, 3-0, 4-1 Mighty Oaks 15, Kepmem 4: Oaks SS Tsorope Mametsiu hit for the cycle in this thrashing at Kepmem, then added another late-inning double for good measure. Mametsiu is filling in while regular SS Ukise Sekao is out with a back injury, and while his overall stats aren't so great this was an awesome game to see. Standings:.......W..L -- Mighty Oaks.111 49 -- .....Tsapna..98 62 -- ..A.Spirits..94 66 -- ....Fampalo..91 69 -- .....Keleri..90 70 -- ....Cheshek..87 73 -- ..Amnanache..87 73 -- ...Pasataki..87 73 -- ...Akashemo..82 78 +1 .....Kupore..78 82 +3 ..Sh.Eagles..75 85 -2 ...National..74 86 -- .....Lutrul..73 87 -2 .....Kepmem..73 87 -- ....Sitache..72 88 +1 ....Nokelto..71 89 -1 .....Hokrof..71 89 -------------------- -- .....Semyof..65 95 -- .A.Canaries..62 98 -- .......Muni..59 101 Amazingly, Tsapna have a better Pythagorean record than Mighty Oaks do, but a 13-game deficit. 30 games remaining now. It is mathematically possible for the Oaks to clinch the title this week, but unlikely. In round 33, we see the final matchup of teams from Aroketsil - maybe the Oaks could roll over to help their neighbors have a shot at survival - and a top-5 matchup with Tsapna at Keleri. Round 33: Lutrul vs. Pasataki Galaxy Semyof vs. Shunna Eagles Nokelto Scouts vs. Kupore Akashemo vs. Amnanache Aroketsil Canaries vs. Mighty Oaks Hokrof vs. Fampalo Kepmem vs. National Tsapna vs. Keleri Aroketsil Spirits vs. Cheshek Muni vs. Sitache Round 34: Sitache vs. Hokrof Cheshek vs. Muni Kupore vs. Aroketsil Canaries Pasataki Galaxy vs. Semyof Keleri vs. Akashemo Amnanache vs. Kepmem Shunna Eagles vs. Nokelto Scouts Fampalo vs. Aroketsil Spirits Mighty Oaks vs. Lutrul National vs. Tsapna Last edited by Ruwisc; 03-04-2025 at 10:13 AM. |

Week 17 Redux: September 9-20
Round 33: .....Lutrul 2-3 Pasataki - 2-1, 7-5, 7-12, 1-2, 11-12 .....Semyof 1-4 Sh.Eagles - 2-4, 5-4, 4-5, 3-4, 2-3 ....Nokelto 1-4 Kupore - 4-9, 3-4, 5-4, 5-7, 0-3 ...Akashemo 3-2 Amnanache - 8-2, 6-3, 0-2, 4-3(10), 0-8 .A.Canaries 3-2 Mighty Oaks - 3-2, 1-6, 2-5, 3-2, 6-5(10) .....Hokrof 2-3 Fampalo - 3-4, 4-2, 6-8, 7-6(11), 10-12 .....Kepmem 2-3 National - 4-9, 8-4, 0-2, 4-5, 3-2 .....Tsapna 1-4 Keleri - 1-4, 4-5, 7-2, 1-2, 3-4 ..A.Spirits 4-1 Cheshek - 6-1, 11-5, 7-2, 8-5, 2-5 .......Muni 3-2 Sitache - 6-5, 6-1, 4-5, 7-6, 0-1 Lutrul 2, Pasataki Galaxy 1: Finally, the return of Lutrul CF Ipitashi Rerawe, the five-time MVP who has missed over four months due to injury. Lutrul are not quite where they expected to be this year, and his injury played a big part in that. Aroketsil Spirits 6, Cheshek 1: Spirits 3B Rolana Rekesu, already the league's home run leader, launches three balls out against Cheshek in this game, driving in all six Spirits runs. He would eventually record 7 HR and 16 RBI over the course of the week. Semyof 5, Shunna Eagles 4: Eagles ace Toe Kachefe is done for the year, having had surgery to remove bone chips in his right elbow after being pulled from this game during the 6th inning. The Eagles unfortunately led 4-0 at the time of his injury, but Semyof came back against the Shunna bullpen. Aroketsil Canaries 3, Mighty Oaks 2 (the second one): maybe this is a rivalry after all. A bench-clearing brawl was started by Canaries LF Asse Chamloha and Oaks star SP Notsimi Feshasu, the league leader with 23 wins. Both guys received medium-term suspensions. Round 34: ....Sitache 3-2 Hokrof - 1-0, 5-10, 7-4, 5-0, 7-8 ....Cheshek 4-1 Muni - 5-2, 10-6, 5-6, 5-0, 7-5(10) .....Kupore 3-2 A.Canaries - 10-2, 0-2, 8-5(10), 2-8, 10-5 ...Pasataki 2-3 Semyof - 11-13, 8-6, 3-1, 4-7, 0-6 .....Keleri 4-1 Akashemo - 9-8(10), 4-11, 4-2, 5-3, 6-2(12) ..Amnanache 5-0 Kepmem - 5-4, 8-1, 9-1, 6-5, 5-4(10) ..Sh.Eagles 3-2 Nokelto - 4-0, 1-4, 7-1, 4-2(11), 7-8 ....Fampalo 2-3 A.Spirits - 8-1, 5-13, 3-4, 5-6, 9-6 Mighty Oaks 3-2 Lutrul - 11-3, 4-0, 2-5, 6-3, 4-14 ...National 1-4 Tsapna - 0-5, 7-4, 1-3, 2-9, 2-5 Aroketsil Spirits 4, Fampalo 3: Spirits SS Wasi Tsewayo suffered an oblique strain in this game while fielding. He's expected to miss all of next week but probably be back for the final few games of this season. I'm still rooting for the Spirits to hold their position (or maybe even climb back up to second?). Standings:.......W..L -- Mighty Oaks.116 54 -- .....Tsapna.103 67 -- ..A.Spirits.101 69 +1 .....Keleri..98 72 -1 ....Fampalo..96 74 +1 ..Amnanache..94 76 -1 ....Cheshek..92 78 -- ...Pasataki..92 78 -- ...Akashemo..86 84 -- .....Kupore..85 85 -- ..Sh.Eagles..82 88 -- ...National..78 92 -- .....Lutrul..77 93 +1 ....Sitache..77 93 -1 .....Kepmem..75 95 +1 .....Hokrof..75 95 -1 ....Nokelto..74 96 -------------------- -- .....Semyof..69 101 -- .A.Canaries..67 103 -- .......Muni..63 107 Finally, we're back to where we were when the game crash occurred. Mighty Oaks have a 13-game lead going into the final 20, which I think is exactly what they had pre-crash. Their magic number, therefore, is eight; this is probably the week that they clinch the title, most likely over the weekend while hosting the Eagles. Round 35: Aroketsil Canaries vs. Fampalo Akashemo vs. National Kupore vs. Kepmem Nokelto Scouts vs. Aroketsil Spirits Lutrul vs. Keleri Pasataki Galaxy vs. Tsapna Semyof vs. Sitache Hokrof vs. Shunna Eagles Mighty Oaks vs. Cheshek Muni vs. Amnanache Round 36: Tsapna vs. Akashemo Aroketsil Spirits vs. Lutrul National vs. Hokrof Kepmem vs. Muni Fampalo vs. Kupore Cheshek vs. Pasataki Galaxy Amnanache vs. Semyof Sitache vs. Nokelto Scouts Shunna Eagles vs. Mighty Oaks Keleri vs. Aroketsil Canaries Last edited by Ruwisc; 03-04-2025 at 11:26 AM. |

Week 18: September 21-October 2
Dangit, there was another crash. Luckily, only one week gone this time. So, this may be a different version of week 18 than you originally saw. Most notably, in the refresh, Muni staved off the clinching of their relegation through the end of the week. It will take a miracle for them to survive in the EL, but it is still possible. Round 35: .A.Canaries 2-3 Fampalo - 3-5, 5-7, 13-5, 5-2, 0-4 ...Akashemo 3-2 National - 3-6, 1-0, 0-5, 7-1, 7-2 .....Kupore 4-1 Kepmem - 4-1, 5-9, 3-2, 5-2, 4-1 ....Nokelto 1-4 A.Spirits - 4-7, 7-12, 1-3, 9-8(10), 3-4(10) .....Lutrul 0-5 Keleri - 1-3, 3-5, 3-5, 3-6, 2-3 ...Pasataki 0-5 Tsapna - 0-6, 3-9, 2-10, 1-3, 6-8 .....Semyof 2-3 Sitache - 5-4, 6-5, 1-3, 4-8, 0-8 .....Hokrof 1-4 Sh.Eagles - 5-7, 2-3, 1-4, 1-0, 4-6 Mighty Oaks 5-0 Cheshek - 6-2, 6-2, 4-1, 8-7(11), 6-4 .......Muni 3-2 Amnanache - 2-6, 1-11, 6-4, 5-4, 7-4 September 26: Well, now I feel quite bad about not having saved earlier. In this new timeline, soon-to-be-2-time batting champ Fomo Tirma (Kupore, 1B) had an off-the-field accident that resulted in a concussion, the result of which is going to cause him to miss most of next season. Yikes. Keleri 3, Lutrul 2: The 400th home run in the career of Keleri SS Poem Solicha. He's just 24, but has been an EL masher since his age 16 season with the Ransu Shockers. He missed a month earlier this season with a broken left wrist, and has now had two down years in a row, but he's still a player most teams would like to have. Keleri scored their three runs on three solo homers. Round 36: .....Tsapna 5-0 Akashemo - 9-6, 10-2, 4-3, 10-4, 3-2 ..A.Spirits 2-3 Lutrul - 2-8, 3-9, 8-7(11), 8-1, 1-6 ...National 2-3 Hokrof - 1-5, 14-2, 3-8, 0-4, 9-8 .....Kepmem 3-2 Muni - 6-3, 1-4, 9-4, 2-13, 2-1 ....Fampalo 2-3 Kupore - 10-8, 10-4, 1-7, 2-10, 4-9 ....Cheshek 1-4 Pasataki - 5-1, 2-4, 2-3, 2-4, 5-9 ..Amnanache 2-3 Semyof - 0-5, 0-1, 2-0, 5-6(10), 5-1 ....Sitache 3-2 Nokelto - 5-1, 6-5, 4-5, 7-6(10), 1-2 ..Sh.Eagles 2-3 Mighty Oaks - 0-7, 4-1(10), 3-6, 3-0, 3-4 .....Keleri 1-4 A.Canaries - 3-11, 10-1, 2-4, 1-2, 1-5 Semyof 1, Amnanache 0: a one-hit shutout for Semyof SP Tosolefi Loap, outdueling EL strikeout leader Laotso Tirionu of Amnanache. The only hit he allowed was a 3rd-inning double to Amnanache catcher Yatil Rima. Mighty Oaks 4, Shunna Eagles 3: Mighty Oaks BC are the 2021 Elite League champions! It's been clear this was going to happen for a while now, but it was nice to see them be able to clinch at home and on their own terms, rather than with a Tsapna loss (Tsapna have, in fact, won thirteen games in a row). While last year's Oaks team won over 150 games, this team still accomplished the feat of leading wire-to-wire - they took the EL lead at a record of 5-1, and I don't think they were ever out of first place at any point after that. (At one point in June, the Spirits tied them, but never took the league lead.) Standings:.......W..L x- ![]() -- ![]() -- ![]() -- ![]() -- ![]() -- ![]() +1 ![]() -1 ![]() +1 ![]() -1 ![]() -- ![]() +2 ![]() -1 ![]() -1 ![]() -- ![]() -- ![]() -- ![]() -------------------- -- ![]() -- ![]() -- ![]() Not all that much to play for in the final week, aside from pride, and figuring out if Semyof or the Canaries can miraculously pull out of the relegation zone. Two tough series await Semyof, visiting the Spirits and hosting Fampalo, while the Canaries get Cheshek and Sitache. I'll also be looking to see whether Kupore and Akashemo will finish above .500, after winning 92 and 91 games last year, respectively. All 20 teams make their final home and away appearances: Round 37: Nokelto Scouts vs. National Akashemo vs. Shunna Eagles Aroketsil Canaries vs. Cheshek Semyof vs. Aroketsil Spirits Hokrof vs. Keleri Pasataki Galaxy vs. Fampalo Lutrul vs. Kepmem Kupore vs. Amnanache Mighty Oaks vs. Sitache Muni vs. Tsapna Round 38: Tsapna vs. Lutrul Kepmem vs. Nokelto Scouts Aroketsil Spirits vs. Muni Cheshek vs. Akashemo Amnanache vs. Hokrof Sitache vs. Aroketsil Canaries Fampalo vs. Semyof Shunna Eagles vs. Kupore Keleri vs. Mighty Oaks National vs. Pasataki Galaxy Last edited by Ruwisc; 03-04-2025 at 07:04 PM. |

2021 Final Week – Pro/Rel Update (Tiers 2-3)
Second League Promotion (3 teams go up) Clinched: ![]() ![]() Mithazni BC (Hefem, EM; 120-60) Westline BC (Ransu, RA; 117-63) Two spots are secure, with six teams still mathematically alive to take the last one. In the mix: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Otahel City (Otahel, FH): 106-74 Tishmin BC (Tishmin, ZA): 102-78 BK Swans Menmapa (Kiwa Menmapa, ME): 102-78 Onesti BC (Oyefit, CA): 100-80 Nokir BC (Tenshemaho, ZA): 99-81 Yoho Bears (Yoho, HO): 99-81 Key series: Round 37: Swans vs. Onesti, Westline vs. Nokir Round 38: Tishmin vs. Swans, Onesti vs. Westline Big advantage toward Otahel City in this race, with a four-game advantage and an easier schedule. Both Mithazni and Otahel were in the EL last year, and the most likely scenario is that they are again. Relegation (4 teams go down) Clinched: ![]() Sachlihe (Shunna, XU): 66-114 All but clinched: ![]() ![]() ![]() Ransu Ports (Ransu, RA): 74-106 Feshuyalya BC (Feshuyalya, PI): 70-110 Wikyats Athletic (Tenshemaho, ZA): 69-111 Wikyats were the other team relegated from the EL last season, just missing out on run differential in a tiebreaker with National. Now, National are in 11th place in the EL while Wikyats are going down to tier 3. Tough life. Both Ransu Ports and Feshyalya were promoted from tier 3 last year. The Ports have a 5-game deficit to make up, Feshuyalya is 9 games back and Wikyats 10. Not likely. These four teams have been the clear bottom four all year, and anyone else going down would feel a little unfair. The Ports play @Tishmin in round 37, still fighting for promotion, so I wouldn't bet on anything weird happening. Northern Premier League Promotion (2 teams go up) Clinched: ![]() Pelpitimochu United (Pelpitimochu, TA): 128-52 A dominant season for Pelpitimochu, led by a handful of hitters who would be good players in the EL, especially 2B Pomi Sofiulo. In the mix: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Penhara BC (Penhara, HO): 108-72 Alilia Captains (Alilia, CA): 104-76 Loshtsi BC (Reyal, KL): 102-78 Yasral BC (Ransu, RA): 102-78 Key series: Round 37: Pelpitimochu vs. Yasral Round 38: Yasral vs. Penhara Yasral have come on extremely strong in the second half, having been in 10th place at the midpoint, and 7th just a few weeks ago when I last updated. Will Pelpitimochu rest players & give Yasral an easier path? If Penhara stumble in their first series, the weekend set with Yasral could be appointment television. Relegation (4 teams go down) All but clinched: ![]() Fure BC (Fure, FH): 71-109 In the mix: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Lacho BC (Sitache, CA): 80-100 Fampalo City (Fampalo, CA): 80-100 Moonside BC (Eroha, RP): 79-101 Shalish BC (Shalish, HO): 79-101 Pale BC (Pale, TA): 74-106 Key series: Round 37: Fure vs. Enihaka, Shalish vs. Kine, Pale vs. Fampalo City Round 38: no relegation contenders play each other Three of these five teams will go down - three other teams have not technically clinched safety but can breathe fairly easy. This will be a very fluid situation. The fact that Moonside have any chance at all is fairly miraculous - they've gone 18-12 over the past six series, including winning 4 of 5 vs. promotion candidate Alilia Captains. Southern Premier League Promotion (2 teams go up) All but clinched: ![]() Wichku BC (Aksa, ZA): 118-62 10 games ahead of the promotion line with 10 to go, Wichku have been the leaders in the SPL most of this season. In the mix: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Mamtul Wolves (Mamtul, EM): 110-70 Hefem Rangers (Hefem, EM): 106-74 Shepero BC (Shepero, PI): 105-75 Amkutan BC (Sorfiwa, EE): 105-75 Killitash Bayside (Killitash, ZA): 104-76 Relegation (4 teams go down) Clinched: ![]() NK Royan (Kiwa Royan, ME): 59-121 In the mix: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sheshu BC (Sheshu, EE): 76-104 Killitash Giants (Killitash, ZA): 76-104 Hefem Monarchs (Hefem, EM): 75-105 Hokrof Beavers (Hokrof, TA): 72-108 Tokos City (Tokos, ZA): 67-113 Key series: Round 38: Tokos City vs. Hefem Monarchs Three of these five will probably go down (two more teams are 78-102, fairly safe). This relegation battle has not changed much in the last few weeks. That covers tiers 2-3 and what’s at stake in the final week. For tiers below, I’m making my notes of what’s at stake, but there’s too much to type all out here. Instead, I will do a full island review after the final week & talk about how the drama unfolded in the past tense. Last edited by Ruwisc; 03-04-2025 at 11:31 PM. |

Week 19: October 3-14
The final week of the 2021 season. How will our heroes finish out the season? Round 37: ....Nokelto 2-3 National - 1-7, 1-8, 11-4, 1-2, 10-8(10) ...Akashemo 2-3 Sh.Eagles - 2-3, 1-2, 5-4(11), 0-7, 7-2 .A.Canaries 2-3 Cheshek - 7-4, 2-10, 8-3, 4-7, 1-9 .....Semyof 1-4 A.Spirits - 6-2, 3-10, 1-4, 3-9, 6-8 .....Hokrof 2-3 Keleri - 11-5, 5-2, 1-10, 3-5, 3-6 ...Pasataki 3-2 Fampalo - 4-1, 9-7, 6-3, 2-3(10), 3-6 .....Lutrul 3-2 Kepmem - 6-3, 10-5, 4-5, 7-11, 4-1 .....Kupore 0-5 Amnanache - 1-2(11), 1-3, 1-3, 5-11, 1-2(12) Mighty Oaks 3-2 Sitache - 4-6, 7-2, 2-6, 10-8(10), 10-7 .......Muni 0-5 Tsapna - 1-3, 1-5, 1-7, 0-8, 2-7 Tsapna 5, Muni 1: finally, there is the loss that consigns Shunna Municipal BC to relegation. Muni have been here since 2016, and overall have spent more time in the EL than outside of it, so I'm figuring they'll be back before too long. Their star hitters will all probably opt out using their relegation clauses, though - CF Solo Sipet, 1B Nerutsok Uchotsela, LF Kiosho Shipeyo will probably latch on with new EL teams. Sipet in particular seems like he could be the most coveted free agent. Tsapna, Keleri, and the Spirits all will likely be looking for a new CF this winter. Round 38: .....Tsapna 5-0 Lutrul - 6-3, 10-2, 7-4, 8-4, 3-2 .....Kepmem 3-2 Nokelto - 2-4, 15-2, 5-4, 5-7, 7-5 ..A.Spirits 4-1 Muni - 4-3, 9-3, 1-2, 11-9, 8-3 ....Cheshek 3-2 Akashemo - 4-1, 3-0, 7-2, 0-1, 2-5 ..Amnanache 3-2 Hokrof - 4-1, 2-3(10), 6-0, 4-1, 7-8(14) ....Sitache 2-3 A.Canaries - 5-6(11), 8-0, 9-6(10), 2-3(10), 2-12 ....Fampalo 1-4 Semyof - 1-7, 7-8(10), 5-4, 1-3, 3-5 ..Sh.Eagles 3-2 Kupore - 5-0, 1-2, 5-3, 10-3, 0-7 .....Keleri 2-3 Mighty Oaks - 6-5(10), 2-6, 3-2, 3-10, 6-7 ...National 1-4 Pasataki - 3-4, 7-11, 7-3(10), 5-8, 2-5 Sitache 8, Aroketsil Canaries 0 and Fampalo 5, Semyof 4: on consecutive days, the second and third relegated teams were confirmed. In this case, both were teams promoted from the 2L in 2020. Semyof should probably be better than this, given their history (seven championships) but they aren't. The Canaries have been relegated immediately all three times they've come up to this level, we just happened to watch this one. Standings:.......W..L x- ![]() -- ![]() -- ![]() -- ![]() +1 ![]() -1 ![]() -- ![]() -- ![]() -- ![]() +1 ![]() -1 ![]() -- ![]() -- ![]() +1 ![]() -1 ![]() -- ![]() -- ![]() -------------------- R- ![]() R- ![]() R- ![]() Amazingly, Tsapna won their last 23 games in a row to make the final title race look quite close. The Oaks really ran away with it. Semyof ties the all-time record for most wins by a team relegated from the EL, originally set by the Ransu Shockers in 2017, then tied by Wikyats Athletic in 2020 (i.e., last year). The Aroketsil Canaries set a new record for 19th-place teams with 78 wins, beating the 2017 Shunna Eagles' 76-114 mark. Parity at the bottom of the EL is fairly strong, as evidenced by only having 8 teams actually finish above .500. In the next post, we'll do pro/rel from the lower leagues, then a stats deep dive before getting into offseason stuff! |

I’ve figured out a way to semi-automate standings posts without having to upload a bunch of screenshots, which tickles me. Here are the standings for Lokasi's 2nd, 3rd, and 4th tiers for 2021:
Second League ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Interestingly, Nokir and the Yoho Bears tied both in overall record and in run differential (+37). In those circumstances, which across the nation usually happen a couple of times per year, the tie goes to the team with the better head-to-head record, then to the team that scored more runs. Thankfully, I've never needed more tiebreakers than that. Nokir won 7 of their 10 games with the Bears this season. The promotion & relegation races ended up exactly how I expected them to. Welcome Otahel City to next year's Elite League! In the preseason predictions, OOTP was right on 6 of the 7 teams leaving the league. All four relegated teams were guessed correctly, as well as promotions for Otahel and Westline. The only miss was the predictions picking Tishmin as the third promoted team rather than Mithazni. Northern Premier League ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In the end, Yasral's season-ending surge did not turn out to mean promotion. The Captains overcame a 4-game deficit in the final week to level their record with Penhara, but did not score enough. Penhara's +125 run difference bettered Alilia's +117 by a mere eight runs. The relegation race turned out quite exciting as well. Any of Lacho, Pale, or Fampalo City theoretically could have overtaken Shalish on the final day if they had won by enough runs, but only Lacho won and not by enough. Moonside's great escape did indeed come to pass. On August 24, they were in dead last in the NPL at 59-88, 8 games from safety with 43 to play. Pulling out of that to finish 25-18 and jump up to 15th place is a pretty huge turnaround. Southern Premier League ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Mamtul nearly allowed themselves to be caught for the remaining promotion spot, not clinching until the second-to-last day. Amkutan were a likable team in the original version of the Elite League, which I posted about back in 2017, so I was rooting for them. Maybe next year. Sheshu could have survived by winning any of their final three games at home against Fachi, but they allowed themselves to be caught from two games behind by the Monarchs, who held the tiebreaker with a run differential 50 runs better. Northern Super League ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Moshelosi (Penhara, HO) achieve their second straight promotion, going up to the NPL for the first time in their history. By contrast, Lesha (Ransu) were an original EL team, and have historically played at the Second League level most of the time, so they're headed up to prove themselves once again. 83 wins feels like a huge number for a relegated team, condolences to Meyee City. Last season, Pitste managed to stay up with a record of 76-108. Southern Super League ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The top four teams all established a separation about midway through the season. The story of the SSL in 2021 was the collapse of Noyelits (Aksa, ZA). Noyelits began the year 40-12, with a 7-game lead at their peak on May 9. But they won only 21 of their next 56 games, and at times appeared to be in danger of falling below .500. The Whales were four games clear of the Jaguars with 12 to play, but a disaster ending dooms them back to Southern League One in tier 5. The 4th tier is transient by nature – it's quite rare for a team to be here for too long. Of all the teams at the Super League level, the team who has gone the longest without being promoted or relegated has been here for just eight years (Malshe United in the NSL). |

Tier 5
Mideast League One ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() Oak City Boars (Aroketsil, KX) were an EL team in the original 2017 iteration and a foil for Mighty Oaks in the same way that the Spirits have become here. Instead, they're part of a trio of Aroketsil teams that are the highest-rated outside of the 3 that played in the EL this year - Wuhalale also hail from the Oak City. Neshori is the flagship team from the city of Seshal, KX, the nation's 20th largest city but still mainly viewed as dependent on nearby Hefem, EM. Kind of like if Dallas and Fort Worth were on opposite sides of a state border. It was a bit odd that there were no teams from Seshal in the top four tiers of the pyramid, but now there's one! Northeast League One ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() Tesoshi (Tesoshi, FH) are victims of geography. Ideally, a team in Tesoshi's location would play in the Western League system rather than the Northeast League. The other teams from the state of Fyhot that play at this tier are Tsapich and Fitsafin, both in WL1. But, the past couple of years one team from that area has needed to shift to the Northeast to make the numbers line up. The solution, from Tesoshi BC's perspective, is to get promoted to a tier where it's no longer a problem, and that's exactly what they've done here. Southern League One ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() This is Sipliyak's second straight promotion, and third in four years. But this isn't an underdog story, it's a fallen giant trying to get back to where they believe they belong. An original EL team, Sipliyak (Tenshemaho, ZA) have played in the Elite League as recently as the year 2000, but things started to wane in the mid-2000s, and then financial missteps led to four successive relegations from 2011-14 putting them in tier 7. They still play in their original stadium, capacity 39,300, which even with their success this season was only 1/6 of the way full on average through 2021. They are hoping that a jump to tier 4 will mean a big boost in incoming cash. Sipliyak's shortstop, Losaka Mawekilolako, could be an EL player right now; he just put up 18.6 WAR and nearly had a .500 OBP, finishing on .497. Western League One ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() Lulo 1B Tisiri Fefae could also be an EL-quality player, having just won the WL1 Triple Crown (.368/61/123). This is a banner year for the town of Tsatsaye, TA (pop. 64,800), as both Tsatsaye BC and Lulo BC call it home. Neither team has been promoted to the fourth tier before - they are going to the Northern Super League together. Koltsi Town is also worth spotlighting - Koltsi is one of the smallest towns in the database (pop. 10,100) and KTBC is their only club. They played in the 11th (lowest) tier of the pyramid as recently as 1999, have bounced between tiers 6 and 7 since 2007, and this is their first time going up to tier 5. They only missed promotion last year by two games, but now head down to tier 7 for the first time in club history. |

Tiers 7 and 8, historically, follow roughly this geographical distribution:
![]() This is never quite exact, due to needing to realign when new teams move in and out of each tier. This is the Platonic ideal, I guess. Tier 7 The seventh tier of Lokasi baseball is a bit of a gatekeeper. There is much more exchange between tiers 6 and 7 than between tiers 7 and 8 (two teams per league are promoted, while only one is relegated). These teams play 120-game seasons, with 8 games against each of their 15 opponents. The result of the relegation race in the Northeast Championship was absolutely brutal. No team in the league was really all that bad, and when the dust settled it was Worpats facing the drop with a record of 52-68 and a run differential of just -67, not that bad all things considered. Otherwise, the Southern Championship was pretty interesting this year, due to the presences of two players way too good for this level, but still not dragging their teams to glory. The best player in all of this tier is undoubtedly Shashki Condors 1B Peyaka Reroli. He came one HR and one RBI away from winning a tier-wide Triple Crown, had a .504 OBP, .789 SLG, and 303 OPS+ (I didn't even realize 300 was possible outside of theoretical situations). Alun RF Toshotse Tiacheshase was nearly as good, and bested Reroli in the home run race, 49 to 48 (on a 162-game pace, that's 66-65). But, neither young stud's team was promoted this year! Tier 8
A surprising number of teams that were noteworthy in the original iteration of the Lokasi universe are down here in tier 8. Nise, Kilri Athletic, Pitsehaten Wolves, and Sunside were all teams that I was posting about back in 2017 (Pitsehaten was called Pithehanet in those days, as I recall). Teams at this level play 104-game seasons, again with 8 games per opponent but in leagues of 14 teams. The relegation races in the 8th tier are watched very carefully by the slim minority who are dedicated fans of state league teams; the teams relegated from these leagues determine which state leagues will get to have promotions and which will not. This year, there were more relegations from smaller states than usual. Shunna (the capital district) is the state league that has had the fewest promotion opportunities overall, but there is one this year with Meshaf finishing last in the Prairie League. Central League ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() Mideast League ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() Northeast League ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() North League ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() Northwest League ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() Prairie League ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() Southern League ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() South Sea League ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Tier 9 I'm not planning on covering all the state leagues, but they will serve as a source for new teams to jump in and out of view. These eight teams earned promotions to tier 8 this season, by virtue of winning their state leagues and being lucky enough to have a spot open up for them: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The Reyal Acorns should probably feel especially fortunate. 122 state league teams had a better record than 35-25, but none in Ketsis Ler. The top 6 teams in the 8-team league all finished within 4 games of one another. |

2021 Season Wrap-Up: Elite League Stats Rundown
Batting Average .386 ![]() .370 ![]() .353 ![]() .341 ![]() .341 ![]() Tirma will not play until August of 2022 due to complications from an off-field concussion. He just turned 19 in the final week of the season, though, so plenty of promise still. This is his second batting title, having won it in 2019 as a rookie as well. Home Runs 62 ![]() 50 ![]() 48 ![]() 47 ![]() 47 ![]() In the end, not much of a race. Last year, eight players hit the 50-HR mark, with Koshynae topping the league, but this season just two did. Rekesu, 21, is a local-ish kid, from the town of Limpa, KL, about an hour north of Aroketsil. RBI 177 ![]() 175 ![]() 165 ![]() 162 ![]() 151 ![]() Rekesu had six RBI in the season's final game, an 8-3 win at Muni, to snatch the RBI title from Merefife. Position Player WAR 12.4 ![]() 12.3 ![]() 12.0 ![]() 11.4 ![]() 11.0 ![]() Tirma, Rekesu, and Koshynae round out the leaderboard, all with at least 9. Apia Lela led this leaderboard pretty much throughout the year, but faded near the end. Tofpalts had a stellar year, putting up a 156 OPS+ with plus defense at short, while only sitting out two games all season. His first time leading the league in anything other than steals. Stolen Bases 75 ![]() 69 ![]() 68 ![]() 68 ![]() 62 ![]() Lapa, 32, played in the EL this year for the first time since 2015 (with Sitache). In 2015, he finished second in steals. This is his first time leading his league in any stat other than AB/PA, even with his time in the lower leagues. Time will tell whether he opts out of his contract with the Canaries' relegation - a few of the second-tier teams like Amnanache and the Galaxy will be in the shortstop market this offseason. So, who’s the MVP? I’m not voting, but I lean toward Sefenera. In addition to the accolades listed here, he led the league in OBP, SLG, and runs scored while being the lineup keystone for the championship team. But, time will tell. ERA 2.50 ![]() 2.62 ![]() 2.71 ![]() 2.91 ![]() 2.93 ![]() Despite a sub-.500 record (12-15), Latsychano has an argument to be Pitcher of the Year. The run support at Amnanache can be a little... spotty. Wins 26-5.. ![]() 25-8.. ![]() 21-11. ![]() 20-13. ![]() 17-8.. ![]() It's amazing how well the Oaks were able to do despite their rotation injuries - Feshasu was the only Mighty Oaks SP that actually completed a full slate of starts, and they used eleven starters in total. Strikeouts 270 ![]() 256 ![]() 252 ![]() 248 ![]() 235 ![]() It's interesting the different ways in which pitchers can rack up Ks. Tirionu barely qualified for the ERA title, and Ipo threw 57 more innings than he did over the course of the season. Saves 49 ![]() 45 ![]() 45 ![]() 44 ![]() 44 ![]() 44 ![]() 44 ![]() A very clogged leaderboard here. Six more pitchers had at least 40! Pitcher WAR 8.8 ![]() 8.6 ![]() 7.2 ![]() 7.0 ![]() 6.4 ![]() Any of Ipo, Latsychano, or Merefife could win Pitcher of the Year without too much surprise. Notsimi Feshasu also is under consideration due to his lofty win total and league-leading WHIP and BAA (0.97 and .190, respectively), as well as leading the league in the more backward-looking rWAR. It's quite a tough voting decision. Season awards will come in the next post - I haven’t simmed to that point yet because I still need to work out all the promotions, relegations and realignments. |

The following teams are being moved within their tiers for geography's sake. This is a pretty typical amount for an offseason, maybe a couple fewer than usual.
Tier 4: ![]() Tier 5: ![]() Tier 7: ![]() ![]() ![]() Tier 8: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In tier 8, the relegation of the Sefirni Dukes from the South Sea regional league caused some strain. Being from the state of Emshishna, which doesn't normally send teams to the SSRL except from its very southeastern corner, their replacement, the winner of the Emshishna state league system, was from Central region territory. These shuffles are consequences of that, including an extra move to keep the two teams from Fapakahi together. 2021 Elite League Awards Gold Gloves .P ![]() .C ![]() 1B ![]() 2B ![]() 3B ![]() SS ![]() LF ![]() CF ![]() RF ![]() Silver Sluggers .P ![]() .C ![]() 1B ![]() 2B ![]() 3B ![]() SS ![]() LF ![]() CF ![]() RF ![]() Something I definitely didn't notice during the sim - Sefti Merefife hit six home runs this season! I wonder if that's a pitcher record. Manager of the Year ![]() Mihauwy's third MoY award, won during his three championship seasons of 2017, 2020, and 2021. Reliever of the Year ![]() ![]() ![]() Unanimous for Watafo, whose 1.55 ERA was tops among full-time relievers. Thanks to him, Akashemo United had one of the league's best records in 1-run games. Pitcher of the Year ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Quite a close vote, as expected. I think I would have voted for Latsychano but there wasn't an obvious winner at all. Merefife went 13-2 in the second half, leading the Tsapna surge to finish second. Most Valuable Player ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And a unanimous decision in Sefenera's favor. He finished fourth in his breakout season last year, with Lawori El as the winner, and now has the hardware. Just 21, he's got plenty more chances to build out his trophy cabinet. -------------------------------------------------------- October Transactions October 18: - National BC announced the retirement of the #18 uniform in honor of shortstop Ekana Yikisike. Yikisike played for National from 1997-2013, winning the EL MVP award in both 1998 and 2000. He also played in the EL for Kepmem and Westline, and just announced his retirement at age 43 having played this season for Olchashe in the Mideast Championship (tier 7). - This was manager firing day, with Sitache firing manager Shykim Lekenyr, and Kupore and Nokelto Scouts opting to let their managers' contracts run out (Misote Noniwo and Lolerera Choap, respectively). - There is no draft in Lokasi, so young players become available to sign on this date as well. This year's amateur free agent class are those players born in 2005. The signings to watch out for are shortstop Syshawe Arachihe, infielder Upeshochi Nomatsuti, and catcher Oto Sechiche. None of the top players have signed just yet. And, this was also the day during which contract opt-out decisions needed to be made. There were a few key decisions:
October 21: The three teams who let their managers go earlier in the week all made quick hires, and all of the same day. All three new managers are getting their first ever managerial gig, and are all former relievers in their early to mid 40s: Tylu Hiyoshe for Sitache, Anesa Kasati for Kupore, and Hypa Leliche for the Scouts.
