New Patch

The patch does not work. I have a Nvidia card and I downloaded it a few minutes ago and installed it. Game still crashes. I can honestly say, for me, this version of the game has been one problem after another. I have just ignored most of them but I hope 26 will be better. I guess we will see. I think I will just wait for 26 and not bother with this version anymore.

It fixed one issue, if you are still having crashes, you may be hitting some other unrelated problem. Are you hitting the crash as soon as you enter a 3D game to play? If you can report with a trace file, we could investigate further what the issue you might be facing is.

As I stated this is just another problem of many I have experienced with this version of the game. Of course now I can't even play the game because it crashes once I try to actually play the game. But really it doesn't matter at this point. The new version is coming out and I probably will not be buying it.

The game seems to be fairly stagnant at this point. Mostly cosmetic changes. The real changes need to be directed towards actual coding to improve the overall game. Doesn't appear that is the case. Anyway I'm just tired of the frustration. I will wait and see the reviews of the new version to see if it might be worth purchasing but I'm not hopeful.

Then why are you here posting (that in itself seems like a waste of time if you have already made this decision)?

The game has been very stable for the vast majority of users (based on the general lack of crash issues being reported). You are mentioning issues, but no specifics about them. Hard for anyone to help in that scenario.

You compain about lack of response, but then refuse to accept help when it is offered. If you just want to rant, I don't think you are going to find much sympathy here.

I don't want or need your sympathy. I stated what I think and didn't ask for anything from you. I am glad you are satisfied with the game. I've had issues with it and this Nvidia crash is just one more.

We want to help, but unfortunately we do not have unlimited resources. If we do not know what issue exactly you are running into, it is very challenging for us to be able to find a solution for it.

If you've had a problem with either of those vices, I hope you have gotten help. Luckily I have never had a drug or alcohol problem. If I had I would've gotten help.

I don't eat cereal. I was accused of wanting sympathy and I don't. I am not going to waste my time listing my issues with the game to someone who can't help me. As I have said, 26 is just days away. I'll wait for the reviews and decide if its worth it. Who knows maybe 26 will have issues with Nvidia also. I think you are over reacting. But that's okay. I'm glad you are enjoying the game and have no issues with it. Happy innings!

The word sympathy is first found in post #6. Two people who work on or have affiliations with the game posted prior to that post and you blew them off. So like another poster said, why post if you don't want help?

I mean, the OP had already decided on his solution and posted about it. This is not criticism of anyone who responded. Just an observation with the benefit of hindsight. But perhaps one that will be useful in the future.

This is a message board. I didn't blow anyone off. I voiced my frustration with a game that I have had issues with. I have ignored the issues for the most part. I can't ignore the present issue because I can't play the game due to it crashing. I wanted to let others know about my problem because it is related to my Nvidia card due to an update.

Hopefully the developers can insure that 26 does not have a conflict with Nvidia cards. Who knows? But I will wait until the game is released and see if there are any problems. Also if 26 is just cosmetic changes then I probably will not purchase it. What would be the point.

In my experience, 25 has been far the best for me: I bought it in 2025. There _may_ be some config issues with your system, so I'd recommend waiting after they get through with all the subsequent updates for 26. It's what I did with 25 and it's been pretty good so far. Have been buying since 18.

I have purchased several versions of the game. Never had any major problems until 25. It is interesting that earlier today I tried to play a game on 24 and it crashed just like 25. Never had that problem with 24. If Nvidia cards are going to be an issue going forward then I unfortunately want be purchasing 26. None of my other applications have crashed due to the Nvidia update.

No Nvidia issues with 26 I have a 3070 and a 4070 and zero issues.

I updated my drivers for my Nvidia card this week and now both ootp 25 and 24 crash. None of my other programs crash since the update.

You do understand all games usually get updated drivers from these companies before they actually update them so that they can release patches to prevent these type of crashes. Like WoW and other big A game companies? Sometimes driver updates can bork games. Sometimes they can even bork your hardware in your computer! Mostly it will make games crash until a developer can update their software for games. Since this current Nvidia driver caused issues with the sky_box, the best fix was to change the name of your sky_box folder to something else. However, this was NOT an OOTP issue, this was a poorly developed driver which now OOTP have to try and change their code to fix.

Looks like NVIDA dropped a new driver as I just downloaded one they released on the 5th. Version 572.70. This is for my RTX 3070 on my PC and no crash. Waiting for Bios updates on my laptop which is my RTX 4070
