Question Re: Olympics & Short Seasons
Wanted to mention this issue I've run into.I know the amount of people that would run into similar issues would be low but here goes:
I am playing an NHL season that plays a half-length season. This means it concludes at the end of December. Now I'm realizing that in Olympic years all the top players for the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs are off playing in the Olympics! Needless to say it compromises the integrity of the NHL playoffs and is a real immersion breaker for my custom game. It also seemed odd to me that when I set up the shorter season as far as number of games the schedule maker still booked it out with pacing of a standard schedule, around 5 games a week, leaving my seasons ending December 28th. With a shortened amount of games it would be cool if the schedule maker was "elastic" instead, taking up the same amount of time as a usual season for the league on the calendar but just creating a schedule that included less games per month that covered the same season length on the calendar. That mechanic would solve the Olympics/NHL Playoffs overlap at the same time, As I said, I realize this would be a very low-impact change as far users benefitting from such a change, but I still wanted to throw out the suggestion on the off chance it could be easily addressed. Thanks! (Side note also not sure if it's due to my shortening the number of games but I have yet to see an NHL All-Star Game...) Last edited by Zeke K; 02-25-2025 at 03:19 AM. |

Just wondered if you are able to edit the date of the trade deadline in your game?
e.g. if you set it to end of January the schedule would adjust for that and not end by December. |

Yes, I updated my trade deadline to be November 24th... so players at least wouldn't be traded at the holidays. Heh.
