Multiple PT problems after Error message

OOTP25 crashed. Restarted it.
During restart got an "ERROR" popup "OOTP cannot load this database because it has been created with an earlier version of OOTP. Please use the button "Import OOTP24" to import the database.

I have never even had OOTP24 on this PC because it is new. This error message seems to make no sense. I then deleted dozens of files (see top of screen "DELETING OUTDATED PERFECT TEAM FOLDERS" and "Please wait, looking for outdated Perfect Team folders (deleted 55 folders)" and that number kept going up after the screenshot.

SINCE getting that message and restarting PT, I've noticed a few problems including:

Color bars for player ratings missing
Card info no longer appears when mouse hovering over card on choice pack screen
Player info no longer appears when mouse hovering over player on Pitching and Lineup screens

WHAT did the game break and how can I fix it? I'm running OOTP25 off Steam and do not have any pending downloads. OOTP start screen shows v25.11 build 103.

That error indicates a corrupt file. The best thing to do here would be to shut down the game, then delete all the .pt files from your saved_games folder and then restart and try to log in again. That should fix things.

I’ve never seen this error impact PT. Try going to Main Screen. Settings. Troubleshooting tab and hit re verify all files (words to that effect).

The user.dat is likely corrupted as well. I would suggest in the main screen going to the settings, troubleshooting tab, there should be a button to open the folder with the user.dat. Once you do that, close down your game, rename that to like user2.dat, and then restart the game. You will lose a lot of customizations, but it should fix all the ratings bars and stuff like that. (I suggest renaming in case other parts break, you can always go back and put it back)
