Filters Won't Save

I am trying to update a custom filter. It won't let me save the changes. The Save Filter option in the filter dropdown is grayed out. I have a lot of filters, so I wondered if there is a maximum number, but even after deleting several filters, I still can't update the filter. I also can not save new filters.

I've had something similar with my short lists. I probably had 15 SL, deleted one, and went to make a new one and the option to do so was greyed out. I posted in the tech thread and didn't get an answer. I thought about an uninstall/reinstall to see if that corrected it, but it just wasn't that big of a deal as I could still edit one of the 15 if I wanted something different. I figured I'd wait for v26 and see what happens.

Now, if like you I couldn't do filters or views I'd have immediately tried the uninstall/reinstall, or verify files option since I'm on Steam. Filters and view creation I couldn't live without.

No idea if this is of any help but thought it worth mentioning. if you decide to uninstall/reinstall let us know if that corrected the situation. It's the only fix I can think of and worth a try.

Thank you for the reply. I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling. I'll let you know how it goes.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and that did not work. I tried uninstalling with the option to preserve my data as well as with the option to delete my data (after backing up). Neither one works. I don't know if it matters or not, but I am using the Fast Spring version of OOTP 25 and not Steam. Thanks.

I just started a new game as a test. My filters carry over to that game (as designed). However, in that game I can update the filters and add new filters.
So, to summarize, uninstalling and reinstalling did not fix the issue. However, I can update the filters in a new game even when it won't work in the game where the filters were created originally.

One last update. It now seems to be fixed. So, after I created the test game and updated filters there, I am now able to create new and update existing filters in the original game. Not sure why that would be, but I guess my issue is fixed.

Glad it's working for you. Seems weird, but who's complaining if it's fixed.

Based on your post I went into my game and looked around. Besides my regular game I have an 1971 historical game that I mess around with from time to time. In that game I can still create shortlists. So I tried your "fix" and created a new game, where I was able to create new shortlists. Opened my regular game hoping it would work. It did not, I still can't create new shortlists in that save.

I do have exactly 20 SL and the default. IIRC I had 21 and deleted one, as a test, when the problem first came up. This resulted in my losing a SL and not being able to replace it. I'm not trying that again. Maybe I'm misremembering and I didn't have 21? I don't think so, but...perhaps there is a 20 SL limit?

I'm in the playoffs of my current game and will import it into v26. So, this late in the cycle I'll wait for v26 and see where it goes from there.
