Cully Wilson abducted

Cully Wilson signed by Montreal Canadiens in 1917 as free agent for three years. Then after two years with the team he abducted by Quebec Bulldogs in 1919 for unknown reasons (under contract!). I'm sure i didn't trade him. Look at his bio and career stas.

He's also in alumni list marked by 1918.

When Quebec joins the NHL in 1919 after being inactive for the league's first two years, they get their old NHA players back (at least the ones who haven't jumped leagues to the PCHL.) WIlson played for them in the last NHA season in your game, so his contract transferred to them.

No, it'll still work with that on or off, if I remember right the only things it requires to happen is that the Quebec(/Hamilton/New York/Brooklyn) franchise is active, and that there are NHL-contracted players who have history with it in the NHA.

I found a way to avoid this. Sign the player for a few years before Quebec joins the league. By remaining a restricted free agent at the end of the contract, the player will not return to his previous team and can simply be re-signed.

...until we change it so the rights transfer.

(and you're also risking losing him to the PCHA.)
