No sound during game

Hi... anybody else run into this? The game is working fine... just no sound (during 2D game). I've double-checked the options, etc, rebooted, etc... no luck.

Any suggestions are appreciated... thanks!

You may have inadvertently selected the Mute option under the Sound setting, which is found on the Option menu that becomes available when you start a 2D game.

Nope. I tried toggling that option to see if it did anything...

I've had my system for 3.5 years, and not one game has experienced audio issues. None. Just this one. FHM 10 works/sounds fine.

If you open up your save and look in the Sound files, is there anything in there?

If you open the quick starts, is there any sound in the sound files?

(If you don't know how to do this, start your game, settings, troubleshooting, open customizable data folder)

Hi... I checked, and there are indeed sound files in these folders (although, the Anthems folder(s) only contains a readme, which is odd.

I'd reinstall, but I really don't think that'll do anything. Perhaps I'll try anyway.

Anthems is blank. You would need to add/install a mod for there to be something.

So, if you don't have the game options muted as someone pointed out earlier, I'm thinking it's likely your system. Assuming your on Windows, in the bottom right hand corner, right click on your sound icon and click on Volume Mixer. FHM11 should be there. Is it set all the way down?

Hi... Yes... the volume for the game is set/enabled in the sound mixer.

I don't think there is any issue with the game. However, I don't think there's any obvious issue with my system either. As mentioned, I've never had a sound issue with any game... ever. There's got to be some odd, obscure reason for this.

Is it possible to generate a trace/log file that might provide a hint?

I just noticed something... there is no play-by-play text at the bottom of the gameplay window. It will show "Goal!" when a goal is scored, but otherwise it's just a grey bar.

I already reinstalled once... I wondering if Steam might be causing an issue.

Refunded. Very disappointing. FHM 10 worked just fine. I guess it'll have to do.

I wish you would have posted some screenshots because it was likely something we could figure out.

Still no audio. NVIDIA drivers rolled back to July (556.12). No play-by-play on the bottom ticker. It does flash "Goal" briefly. But that's it.

Can you screenshot all your settings? Both in 2D mode and in the game settings?

After starting FHM, can you show your volume mixer in Windows?

Seems fine. A debug trace file might tell us something: go to your start screen, click on settings, then troubleshooting, and click on "Enable Debug Trace." Exit and restart the game, start a new game, and then exit again. A text file should open as you do that; send me that file (or copy and paste it) in a PM. If there's anything odd in your sound configuration, it may show up in there.

(And probably turn off the debug trace and delete the fhm_trace.txt file from your \debug folder after that, or it'll open every time you close the game.)
