My coach was automatically fired despite manager settings

I simmed to July 1 to find out my coach was fired for me and another one hired. I have my manager settings set for me to manage staff and assistant for renew contracts, which as far as I understand will always renew everybody until they retire. These are my usual settings and I haven't seen this before.



Oddly enough those manager settings persisted after the change whereas normally they all reset after a coach firing.


Additionally if you click on Manny Malhotra's name in the news event it goes to the wrong person.

This sounds similar to something we fixed in an earlier update, where the AI's offseason firing check was firing coaches on user-controlled teams when it should have been skipping them. That should've been retroactive to older saves, though, so even if you had started this with an early build, this shouldn't still be happening. We'll take another look, maybe we missed something, possibly in the manager options.

Interesting. I started this save about a week ago I think so I should be on the latest version.

FWIW it seems my assistant coaches are being hired for me as well. I'm not super certain what happened but I noticed on July 1 my offensive coach had suddenly changed to Riley Armstrong. If I look at his history he has no hired date, where my others that I hired myself do. So something odd happened there too (this was about 2-3 seasons later in that save)

edit: on 2nd thought, this might just be because he was already an assistant coach at the start of the game and was just named offensive coach somehow.

This occurred in my first offseason as well, my coach went from Coach of the Year nominee to fired/replaced...

In my case that entire day's worth of news were jumbled with everyone I clicked on going to the incorrect person.
