One million from all of them!

I see teams here and there making one million dollar donations to the wildfire funds and victims. I think every single team in the NFL, NHL, NBA and MLB should give AT LEAST a million each and we know the NFL can pony up WAY more than five mil.

To know a team can pay a player more than a whole region of victims is ridiculous and shows really how far out of touch we are as a society and with issues of the heart.

Giving is one thing. Who to give it to is another. A lot of these "charities" are bogus money making schemes. You don't know if you are giving it to widows & orphans or Brett Favre.

Why Brett Farve isn't serving a twenty year sentence just ... baffles me.

Without getting overly political, I'm amazed that Aaron Rodgers got more blowback for his opinions than Favre did for his actions.

It isn't the JUSTICE system. It is the COURT system.

Learn the diff.

It looks like organizations like sports are going to have to step up as it seems there won't be money from the usual sources.

There have been some nice gifts from NHL teams, donating their half of the receipts from the "50/50" lottery to the fire recovery rather than the usual local charities. Boston did it, Buffalo, somebody else that I've forgotten, and Vancouver did it against the Kings last night.

(Granted, as the Canucks have now lost their past two home games by a combined score of 11-2, you could say they're used to being charitable at home, but that's for other threads…)

I don't understand why no benefit concert has been organized, though. 10 days is more than enough time to at least schedule it. And it's not as if you can't find plenty of local performers in LA.

Don't expect a donation from the Pirates. They showed where they are when they cut Rowdy Tellez a few ABs before a bonus. Or the Rays either.
