Award Icon Changes
I am hoping to create a few of my own award icons to show in game and replace the default but cannot find where to replace them
After a forum search for some older information, I don't think works for OOTP 24. Thanks |

The icons are in the skin files. You first need to download the skin files from the workshop. The actual files that make up the skin (skin.bin) aren't included with the default installation.
The award icons are in the images folder of the skin. After changing the skin you need to "rebuild" the skin by deleting the skin.bin file and then reloading the skin from within OOTP.

To download the skins to the non-Steam version of the game......
1) Open game to home page...... 2) Bottom left of the screen you will see "Add-Ons Central, Official Website, Forums, etc..........Select "Add-Ons". 3) Download and install either all three listed skins or the skins you plan to use. 4) Install the skins after download. 5) Using "File Explorer" or some other means, look for the "data" folder for OOTP25 and select the skin folder you want to use edit. 6) Select the "images" folder and you will see the icons you are looking to edit/replace...... Remember to save the originals; easiest way to is rename them and then leave them in the folder you found them in. Let me know if you have any problems/questions. |

OK....You are almost there...
It has been a long time since I did the same thing so I had to go back in Mr. Peabody's Wayback Machine...... You need to locate the skins folders that you either a) downloaded and installed earlier and b) locate the skins folder where you edited your award icons...... Inside the folder(s) you should see the following: A folder called "colours" A folder called "constants" A folder named "images" A folder named "style_sets" A file named "defaults.cfg" A file named "skin.bin" You need to DELETE the file named "skin.bin" If you edited the icons in all three skin folders, then you need delete the 3 different "skin.bin" files. Next, close your game and then restart it and a new "skin.bin" file will be generated and it will show your new icons or anything else you edited. Side note: You can delete all three "skin.bin" files at the same time and then just do one restart..... In the future, anything you edit within that skin folder will require you to do the "Delete the skin.bin file procedure"...... |

It is actually pretty easy to do; it actually takes more time and effort to read my instructions then do the actual steps.....
I am here if you need me Basically if you just uploaded the new skins, and nothing else you would still need to delete the "skin.bin" file for each one. Anytime you edit icons, or files found within the skin folders, you are required to do the same thing in deleting the "skin.bin" files otherwise the game will not recognize your new changes......
