Holds the odd distinction of being one of the largest boxing venues (22K) to have never had a main event with male fighters. In the eight years it has been open, it has held two boxing cards - both headlined by Michigan's biggest star at the moment, Claressa Shields.

That record was once held by another Michigan venue - the Pontiac Silverdome. For its first 25 years, it only held one fight card - the disastrous* Mia St. John-Christy Martin PPV. That card also featured Junior Jones getting taken apart by a tomato can and immediately retiring. Neither he nor Martin were paid. Mia got her money in advance, since she was supposed to be the draw. I had great interviews with Christy and Junior, because they were ready to burn any bridge they could find.

However, before the arena closed for good, it hosted the Timothy Bradley vs. Devon Alexander card.

*There were fewer than 500 fans in a stadium that holds 80,000. Also, it was about 35 degrees, because no one had bothered to find out if the Silverdome was heated.
