examples of some new almanac reports

I generate an almanac after each season and have written scripts that clean up some of the pages and create some new reports. I'll include a few of them as suggestions for future improvements.

1) historical "vs Opponents" report - this is basically drawn from the league's "Team vs Team" standings.

2) historical "Splits" report - this is basically drawn from the "Team Information" section of each team's home page, although I have added two new splits: Shutouts and Postseason. I've included a screenshot of the updated team home page to show how they are incorporated into it.

3) history "Fielding Register" - we already have these for batting and pitching, but not fielding. I've included a screenshot of the Fielding Register that my script generates.

Obviously, I do not need these changes because I have essentially programmed into my almanac pages, but other players might find them interesting or useful.

Very cool! Could you post screenies of your postseason pages?

Thank you, but I'm not sure what you mean by postseason pages. All I mentioned about post-season is that I added the W/L split to the main page.

There are other previously handcrafted pages that I am in the process of automating. I'll post those in here when I have them done.

Sorry, I misread that part of your post... The reason I was asking is that I continue to be amazed at the amount of historical stats that OOTP keeps and that we can access without the almanac, yet there's very little history of the postseason - the most important part of the season - that we can access (without the almanac), other than "Los Angeles beat Boston, 4 games to 3."

I would love to see OOTP either:

1) add some postseason history such as team & player stats pages, boxscores, etc., that can be access without the almanac.. or...

2) add a slim "postseason almanac" option that isn't as file-heavy as the generic almanac

Alternatively, I don't know what your skills are - seems like they are extensive! - nor your desire to do such a thing, but a cool option would be to run an external program that finds the postseason boxscores and the appropriate reports and writes them as html's to, say, a "1974 postseason" folder. It wouldn't be ideal in that it wouldn't be accessible within the game, but at least it would save a lot of steps (that I currently do manually).

Sorry if this is a bit of a hijack of your thread

The player pages have postseason stats for players, and the Batting/Pitching stats report has a "Postseason" page but it only covers the current postseason stats for the team.

In addition, under League History -> Leaderboards has a PostSeason category for the various postseason records.

The problem with box scores is that they would be restricted to the almanac for that season and would not be accessible from the almanacs of other seasons.
