Auto renewal question

On my league I have a rookie free agent pitcher. The bidding is north of 1 year 50 million. It is mid September so payroll hit. Won't be too bad. But next year he will be up for auto renewal. Any idea what that will look like?

Contract will auto renew at current dollar amount.

One option - you could "non-tender" the player and attempt to resign that offseason for less, but are not guaranteed to get them to resign (I've never tried this personally, but it would be an option in theory).

Not my player. But thanks. He will end up being a very overpriced player.
