Top Farm System Scoring -- Any thoughts on point values?
I was talking to a friend in an online league and we were discussing farm system rankings in OOTP. He thought there had to be some kind of modifier based on payroll or market, but my theory is that it's 100% based off BNN top 100, with a max of five players counted. Here's the info I have gathered from that league in question:
01 COLORADO -- #5, #10, #11, #38, #46 (191 points) 02 WASHINGTON -- #2, #16, #27, #37, #40 (164 points) 03 TAMPA BAY -- #12, #17, #20, #26, #31 (163 points) 04 KANSAS CITY -- #4, #18, #28, #34, #36 (154 points) 05 ARIZONA -- #6, #21, #32, #51, #76 (105 points) 06 PITTSBURGH -- #7, #8, #47 (104 points) 07 CHICAGO CUBS -- #3, #60, #67, #72, #73 (98 points) 08 MIAMI -- #14, #25, #55, #66, #69 (88 points) 09 MILWAUKEE -- #1, #24, #89 (87 points) 10 WHITE SOX -- #22, #44, #57, #59, #62 (74 points) 11 BALTIMORE -- #13, #35, #53, #78, #90 (72 points) 12 DETROIT -- #9, #42, #71 (66 points) 13 PHILADELPHIA -- #29, #39, #43, #96 (56 points) 14 CINCINNATI -- #15 (33 points) 15 TORONTO -- #30, #58 (32 points) 16 HOUSTON -- #48, #63, #80, #92 (31 points) 17 ATLANTA -- #23, #86 (28 points) 18 ST LOUIS -- #19 (27 points) 19 MINNESOTA -- #41, #88, #100 (20 points) 20 BAY AREA -- #52, #65 (19 points) 21 TEXAS -- #56, #79, #91 (18 points) 22 DODGERS -- #45 (14 points) 23 BOSTON -- #49 (13 points) 24 SEATTLE -- #83, #95 (7 points) 25 SAN DIEGO -- #77 (6 points) 26 YANKEES -- #81 (5 points) 27 SAN FRANCISCO -- #85 (4 points) 28 ANGELS -- #99 (1 point) Cleveland and the Mets have no top 100 prospects, so 0 points From what I can tell, #85 is worth four points, #81 is worth five points, #77 is worth six points, #49 is worth 13 points, #45 is worth 14 points, #19 is worth 27 points, #15 is worth 33 points, based on teams who only have one top 100 player. Interested in figuring out the point value for each ranked prospect, to determine if that matches the scores provided by the game or if there is a modifier involved. Any thoughts?

So far, these match up ...
96-100 1 91-95 2 86-90 3 81-85 4 76-80 5 71-75 6 66-70 7 61-65 8 56-60 9 51-55 10 But it would appear the point values go up more dramatically for top 50 players, and I can't pin it down exactly. Definitely interested in what you guys think

73rd gets 7. Team with 2nd and 61st has 70 points. I've never been able to make sense of how this works. The rankings don't make sense to me either. Doesn't go by overall ratings as lower rated players get ranked higher all the time. Just exposes more flaws in the overall rating system I just ignore it now since I can't understand how it works so it's meaningless to me. |
