Pitcher as Closer -vs- Reliever?
Just finished this year's draft. I drafted closers and relievers.
How does OOTP distinguish between identifying and assigning the closer role versus just a reliever? Stamina? Type of pitches? Number of pitches? Last edited by Larryk007; 12-15-2024 at 06:15 PM. |

Do you have feeders or game generated draftees? Generally CL/RP is impacted by the pitcher's role

My experience is generally the highest rated reliver gets the closer role.

The yearly daft is OOTP generated. Just trying to find why they are assigned a closer by OOTP when they are generated each year.

It might just be a numbers thing. Of the 76 relievers, 11 were closers. This is about 15% of the total relievers. More importantly, it's almost exactly 1 of 7, which roughly lines up with a regular pen. If you have 7 relievers, that's a 12 man staff, and 1 of those is going to be a closer |
