Spring Training Schedule
Why do my spring training games end on March 19 but opening day isn't until March 31? This happens every sim year.

You can change the length of spring training under Game Settings/League Settings/Options to make it longer and closer to finishing near Opening Day.

If I had to guess, it's related to the fact 'Opening Day' was very early in 2024.

It's a catch in the way OOTP works versus real world. IRL, the Dodgers and Padres (or other teams in different years) jetted off to South Korea around March 16th and the other 28 teams stayed in spring training like nothing ever happened. Even LAD/SDP kept spring training going, they just used a bunch of people not in their top 32 or so players and those injured. Spring training in OOTP has to end before the LAD/SDP series as it doesn't have a way to account for those facts. So you end up with 8 days off on your end.
Note, I have not seen a detriment to the players so the builders obviously accounted for this versus what you would see in the regular season when a player sits for a week. |
