CBL's MLB 2025 Season update file 11-22-24

Hey gang!

BIG updates for those that would like to use this file!!!

Listed below:



**** BEFORE YOU START A SEASON, REMEMBER TO SWITCH TEAMS TO ALLOW CPU AI CHANGES!!!! THIS IS DISABLED TO ALLOW ME TO MOVE PLAYERS AROUND ***



- CBL updated R/L splits for majority of MLB players

- Utilized Fangraphs to tag all bajillion minor league free agents

- Updated all non-tender players as of deadline 11-22

- Updated trades (India and Wiemer to KC, Singer to CIN) as of 11-22
- Free agents signings as of 11-22

- Misc updates to some players/prospects

And now….Roki Sasaki. Only way I can get him to show up as a IAFA is to adjust his age down to 19.
See if this works for everyone to get teams to bid on him. Once he signs with a team please edit his birth year to be 2001 versus 2005. With his accurate birth year he doesn’t show up as a IAFA?? Assuming OOTP only develops/shows players under 20 years old?

Some thoughts/suggestions/missing things:

As best I can tell, 23-year-old Sasaki not showing up in the IFA pool is fine. I think it's an issue of the game not liking having a 23-year-old being an IFA in the first place, but when I added a version of him into my own saves with the correct age, he was still an IFA, and you could do all the normal IFA things with him (add to training, offer contract, etc.).

I had to re-add Edward Rogers III as the Blue Jays owner, because the OOTP AI did an ownership change.

Bo Bichette, Henry Davis, David Bednar, and Spencer Torkelson (among others) could use their stats nerfed. They were all quite bad this year.

Also, Paul Skenes doesn't have his "splinker" in his arsenal. When I add it in myself, I usually put in a splitter that has a rating of around 448.

The issue I’ve seen with Sasaki with his real age in IAFA is no teams bid on him when I simulate out…..which is odd right? At least 19 year old Sasaki signs with someone in my test sims.

Those four above I decided to not kill completely ratings for 2025 based on bad seasons in 2024. Bichette and Bednar both have track records of being good players in thr past.

If I recall correctly Davis and Tork are around 50-55 players? So the top prospect shine from both is gone, however both still have a chance to be around average players.


Also of note….
For anyone interested I am going through and calibrating some 40 man roster adds before deadline last week. I am also calibrating some minor leaguers (mostly AAA, and some AA) to help ensure teams don’t have entire AAA squads with 20-25 “current” overall rated players that are not ready for that level. In a few cases players added to 40 man roster last week had low current ratings which I’ve now adjusted.

With the inclusion of above, I’ve also calibrated AAA and AA rosters to be (mostly) appropriate ratings for each level.

Updates to some prospects

Updated free agent signings including Snell to Dodgers, and Kikuchi to Angels.

- Placed the ~Top 30 IAFA on expected teams to sign them per Baseball America

- Placed Rule 5 MLB and MILB players on appropriate teams

- Calibrated at least the expected first round of talent (30 ish players) for the 2025 MLB draft. The top 2 picks projected are Ethan Holliday & Jace LaViolette, then next tier a trio of pitchers Jamie Arnold, Tyler Bremner, and Seth Hernandez. Those 5 expected top of the draft and rated as such. Beyond those top 30, the top few rounds talent looks appropriate.

Plan to release by ~12/15!!

Thanks for taking the time to put these rosters together. I have never loaded rosters before, I always just use the OOTP defaults. How do you load in your downloaded rosters to the game? Thanks in advance for your help!

Once you download the zip file, place the *.lg file in your Saved_games folder. From there you can open the league file in OOTP game.
