I guess some NBA owners are fed up investing money into an endless pit of no ROI.
There's no end to media posturing when collective bargaining is on the line.

Cities campaigning to get a WNBA team. Cause, you know, the league is bleeding cash.

WNBA is immensely profitable. Now, with the NEW media contract.

Salaries for players are now miles behind the revenue they generate.

The WNBA players opted out of the current CBA back in October. They are in negotiations right now for a new one. I expect it to be completed before the end of January if not sooner.

I expect we will see some radical changes.

There is also talk of making the season longer and moving the schedule to more be in line with other professional basketball leagues.
I.e in the fall and winter.

I am not sure how good of an idea that is. But it seems like both parties want that.

And far fewer players are going overseas to play for extra income. So I can see how the players would want a more normal schedule.

I can see why the league would as well since it lines up for international play better.

But the extra competition from football and men’s basketball might be an issue with attention.

Part of the reason I can watch the WNBA is because it was on in late spring and early summer when the sports schedule is lighter.

This would be so asinine. WNBA has a lot going against it. What they have going for it is (1) not having to compete vs the NFL, NBA, NHL NCAA football & NCAA basketball M&W, (2) they play when sports networks are looking for programming & (3) they come in hot w/the women's Final 4 as a lead in.

They would be fools, absolute fools, think USFL fools, to move their season.

I think Unrivaled has the potential to be more profitable than the WNBA.

It would be a shame to see them do this. It is a league that is just now starting to find its groove, don't kill it in the cradle!

We are huge UCONN sports fans so my wife and I have always watched games when we could to see the Huskies that are sprinkled throughout the league and now we seek the games out and have been to several games (CT Suns) I don't how moving to the fall/winter would impact us but I can guarantee that we would watch less and we love the WNBA. To be fair, the number of games that we attend in person would likely stay the same
