Schedule not creating 162 games

For some reason my schedule stopped creating 162 game seasons. Under Leage Settings and Options it still reads 162, but the schedule has generated as follows:

2023 162 games
2024 162
2025 150
2026 150
2027 153

Any ideas? Seems strange.

What happens if you try manually generating the schedule? Does that fix this?

Did the structure of you league change in terms of the number of teams?

Lukas - When/How would I manually generate the schedule? Is it "Generate Fictional Schedule"? Best to do that before spring training? After preseason begins?

David - Structure hasn't changed. Same number of teams. I did notice that "Use balanced schedule" was not checked. Don't know why that would cause a problem though.

Yeah, 'generate fictional schedule'. Should probably do it in the offseason, but in preseason should be ok if that's where you're currently at.

OK Tried generating the schedule several times and each time it generated a schedule with 150 to 153 games. Not even the same number each time. Really weird. Any other suggestions? Could it be a corrupt schedule file or something like that?

Is the balanced schedule box still unchecked when you're doing it?

I've tried it both ways.

Interestingly, I tried to load the "2023" schedule and it said it couldn't because the 2023 schedule only has 132 games and my league was set for 162. It did let me load the 2022 schedule.

The same problem happened to me. The only solution is to generate a schedule with 174 or 177 games to compensate for the 12 games missing when generating it with 162. It's not that big of a deal to count all the games when preseason comes around but either way that's not ideal, since it alternates between 150 and 153 games on the default setting of 162.

Even then, I don't know if that quick fix could have some underlying issues.

If you have a saved game where this is happening, can you upload it to Dropbox or Google Drive and post the link here for us to take a look at? We'd just need the .lg files, not the whole league folder.

I assume you were refereing to the .dat files, instead of the .lg, since that's the folder.

Why don't you use a hand-made schedule that matches your league? You only have to import it one time.

Ran into the same problem. Didn't even notice the last couple seasons because I wasn't making the playoffs. Even weirder is that not all teams have the same # of games at season end. i uploaded the save to ftp "wrong_number_of_games.zip". it was historically accurate up until current of course so seems like it'd be something to do with generation after those schedules run out.

btw this is for 2025, i got to this thread thru google so didn't notice. same issue though.
