Team orders have never bothered me and have been a part of F1 since day 1, but it's weird how there was a massive uproar over what Ferrari did in Austria and the US in 2002 and now no one cares. I mean, I don't think they should have cared even then, but the change in attitude is puzzling to me.

Due to the dim weather forecast (as if they ever get that right...), not only has qualifying been rescheduled for Sunday morning at 7:30 local time (should be 5:30 eastern...?), but the GP is also being brought up to 12:30 local time (10:30 ET?).

When Rubens pulled over for Michael in Austria I lost my sh*t. I get it, but I hated it. To this day, I get it, but I hate it.

After 90 minutes and five totalled cars, we're still not through qualifying.

Lando on pole for the race, while the #1 car went out 12th in Q2, but who knows where he starts with a 5-place grid penalty (engine parts) and three cars that made it to Q3 (Albon, both Astons) wrecked behind the walls. Sainz and Colapinto also junked their cars. Only Colapinto's car looks like it's easily repairable by race time.

Whoever runs the "World Destructors Championship" account claims that only a good handful of drivers have run up a repair bill of under $1M this season: Dutch Max, Ossie, Hülkenberg, Lando, Sir Lewis, and Bottles. (ignoring mid-season replacements / stand-ins)

Max needs 24 points to win the title if Lando wins every GP and sprint race and sets fastest lap in all 3 GP's. In the 4th fastest car for most of the season. Let's go.

Assuming Red Bull doesn't catch McLaren or Ferrari, this will be the third time the WDC has been in a car that finished 3rd or worse in the WCC.
1982 - Keke Rosberg, Williams 4th 1983 - Nelson Piquet, Brabham 3rd

Will this be the weekend that McLaren clinches their first title since 1998? 24 point lead, need to leave with a 45 point lead or the last race will be for the trophy.

SRF commentator immediately followed up Lando taking sprint pole by pointing out that it's his first sprint pole since China.
As if I had needed for a flashback to that.... ![]()

I hate that bloody orange ********** team.
Edit - In case Lando ever wonders why he only gets relentlessly **** on in every comment section across the entire internet - this was it. Gifting away a point as meaningless as it might be (although I have faith that this wicked bunch can yet **** up the constructors title and second in the drivers' to Ferrari/Leclerc) is something that Dutch Max would NEVER do. He'd rather crash his car into an orphanage than to surrender a position so that Sergio Perez feels a little better. I love Lando to bits. Too bad he wasn't born with a spine.

I can appreiate what he wanted to do there, but he's lucky he didn't end up 4th. Then again, sprint races are an abomination.
