Low Bunting Ratings - Historical Games
I did a search on this but don't see anything. Is there something in setup that affects bunting ratings in historical games? In modern games, it is pretty much what you expect for each player, but I've tried several historical setups and end up having basically an entire team with 20/25/30 ratings for sacrifice bunting and bunt for hit.

Yeah the historical ratings are truly odd. I have seen guys with very high sacrifice bunt ratings (from the Deadball Era when scratching for runs was common) but single-digit bunt for hit ratings. That just doesn't track, either in terms of ability or frequency. As to the first, if a guy can successfully drop a sacrifice bunt most of the time, he should also be a good bunter for a hit, unless he is slow. As to the second, bunting for a hit was much more common than today, back in the Deadball Era. and the frequency of bunting for a hit can be controlled through Strategy settings for the player and/or team. No need to reduce the use of Bunt for Hit by assigning a ridiculously low value.
For players I know could bunt, I increase the bunt for hit rating using the Editor. But I am sure to miss some players who deserve better ratings. It's as if Bunt for Hit is not being considered on its own merit, based on historical stats.
