Dynamic Duo: Sharks Dynasty Story

There is one thing that all hockey dynasties of the last 20 years have in common. They have at least two franchise (if not generational) level players at the core of the organization. Chicago Blackhawks had Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. After being drafted a year apart, they started they started their NHL careers in 2007-2008 season. Less than 3 years from their rookie season, the duo helped Blackhawks to win the 2010 Stanley Cup (the first since 1961). Toews and Kane played together for 16 seasons and won 3 cups for Chicago.

Then of course you have the most recent great hockey dynasty: Pittsburg Penguins. The dynamic duo of Crosby and Malkin, also drafted one year apart and started playing together as mere teenagers. The current 2024-2025 season is set to be 19th together for the Penguin franchise duo. They also ammased 3 Stanley Cups together. Not an easy feat.

Of course the secret behind Penguin's success in recent years was due to far more than their two star centres. Hockey is a team sport afterall. The 3 Cups came at the time when Penguins possessed a truly generational young core of Crosby (centre), Malkin (centre), Letang (defenceman) and Fleury (goalie). And add to that a pretty impressive supporting cast over the years. Players like Kunitz, Kessel and Guentzel. So I am going to argue that to emulate the success of recent NHL dynasties you really do need to start with a young core that covers every single position: forward (especially big centres), defence and goalkeeper. That is 4-5 trully exceptional franchise players combined with a hardworking and still talented team. And in that respect 2024-2025 San Jose Sharks possess ALOT of promise already. At the start of 2024-2025 season, their farm system is like no other in NHL. Sharkes are lucky to have not just one but TWO teenage centre prospects with franchise player potential! And they also just recently traded for a young goalkeeper prospect (Askarov) who might not reach the level of Fleury but could still develop into one of the best keepers in NHL.

1) Dynamic Duo at Centre
Just like Crosby and Malkin, we got Macklin Cellebrini (18 y.o) and Will Smith (19 y.o).
TO BE CONTINUED...

Oh my. I really don't have an idea how to properly insert images into my post. It seems to work somewhat different from other discussion forums I am used to. Could someone be so kind as to teach me how to format my posts properly? So that images appear within text. Any help would be appreciated!

I am really excited to get this ongoing Dynasty Report of the ground
