Well, you can always argue if the changes to the game are worth it, especially with games that get a yearly release. For me, I know I'll get 45€ worth of fun out of it, so I'll get it. Each to their own, as they say.

Asking because I think it will be valuable feedback for the developers. I will be buying, just as I have bought every other version of the game. It's still the best hockey management sim on the market (by far) and I sincerely and truly appreciate the work that has been put into this game. With that said, I wish there was more emphasis on ironing out the game's basic features and mechanics, such as tactics management, scouting, development, sim speed etc...instead of adding some of the gimmicky features that quite honestly, I don't care about as much. I know some of these items have been worked on for this new version, but I feel like there is still some ways to go. |

Or being able to edit lines as GM like in OOTP. So we can keep head coach but also edit lines if we chose. Those would be a few big ones, others can be found in the FHM 11 wishlist thread. Maybe those are in there, IDK. I can just go off what I've seen shown so far. |

I'm watching the stream "A Deep Dive Into Some of the New Features" while I work this morning and I'm pretty sure they showed a toggle for this. It was in the first few minutes so you might check that out?

Agree. With a game like FHM I've always seen my yearly payment as an investment. Each year gets a little better. I figure I can complain about how its not quite the game I wish it was or I can put my money where my mouth is and invest in it. If I don't buy it, then maybe the lights go out eventually and I'm left wondering what might have been. I buy OOTP and Football Manager every other year. With the complete debacle that Football Manager's release has become there are already articles out there asking if the game can survive a March and then a November 2025 release (if they try to get back on the usual schedule) since most people won't buy the game twice in one year. Nothing is promised, nothing should be expected... This is a video game built for a very specific subset of people who both like hockey and like playing management games. This game is niche as f---! This game doesn't have to exist at all. 99% of the world isn't going to care if one day it goes away. So I'm happy to support the things I like. I'm happy to spend money to keep this game going, and I look forward to jumping in to see all of the new features. I'm working late tonight to wrap my work up for the week so I can buy and play this game as close to the release time as possible.

@drummerJ99 I will be buying it on release day at full price. As I have always done since FHM5. I do this because I want to support the small developer. To encourage them to continue working on this series. It is the only hockey manager sim on the market right now. And it is a very small dev team. Much smaller than those for Football Manager games or even OOTP games. They have to work with a budget thats a fraction of what those other franchises get. So I buy with that in mind, not expecting huge changes every year. BUT when I look at how much progress there has been since FHM5 or even since FHM9 then its pretty big, And I am happy to pay the relatively small price of admission to have a whole year's worth of fun. It does sort of feel like an investment in this series as hurricanekevin already said. We need to encourage the devs and not take them for granted because it is very very niche game.
But as someone before me already said, to each their own and I respect that. Last edited by crusadertsar; 10-24-2024 at 12:03 PM. |

Good comments.
I buy FHM on launch day no matter how much they add (or don't add) to the game because I believe in the product, have a ton of fun with the game, and trust the team to respond to user feedback with improvements several times a cycle. I realize we all want things to be better faster. I play as GM and coach in the current day NHL and, as an NHL licensed game, I really want the NHL rules (especially waivers) to be exactly correct; 2D to accurately reflect if my tactics are working (ala 2D in Football Manager); and the 2d simulator and classic simulator to have the same stats and to have those stats be as accurate compared to real life as possible. So, I don't like that time is spent on other priorities, but I also understand not everyone plays like I do and has their own wishlist. So, it may take time, but I can be patient because what we do have is good and improves each year. |

Its at 8min 44sec. They split Lines and Tactics so we can set them separately. And they said, its editable when you play GM only. So in GM mode you can set either of them or both manually and not leave it to the AI... Last edited by HockeyEagle; 10-24-2024 at 04:24 PM. Reason: spelling mistake |

There are parts of the game which really frustrate me and I have been quite critical at times. But, I also appreciate they are a very small dev team (perhaps too small). They communicate with users and they're passionate about providing the best hockey sim, so I am more than happy to support their product and hope it evolves as I hope. |

Hi everyone,
Is the time of the release known or does it depend on Steam and other circumstances so it is not possible to tell? Thanks |
