I could be wrong but I think that once you start a game you are stuck with the database you started it with... that would explain why I sometimes report things that you have fixed already.

Joe Cobb doesn't have a real stats tab on his profile when created... in real life he was used as a pinch hitter April 25 1918 and got a base on ball. This was his entire career in the major league.

Bert Yeabsley (1919) doesn't have a real stat tab, if you check the game split in his profile you'll see that he pinch hit his first game and got a BB.

Not only that, the division winner getting the three games at home alternated between the East and West divisions each year; there was no seeding involved.

As a general observation, while a historical MLB league will use the historical schedule files for the regular season, for the postseason the schedules are generated entirely by OOTP using whatever logic it's coded to use. The result is that postseason schedules for historical leagues are quite unrealistic.

While there are.a great many advocates for the historical accuracy of player statistics and data, when it comes to the historical accuracy of league-level details, there are almost no advocates, myself being one of the few. Most OOTP users don't seem to care, which I find unfortunate because the player and league details go hand-in-hand.

Well, I was helping someone on reddit try to figure out what's going on in his newly created historical save. He wants to start and then prevent the Juan Soto trade, but Soto is not on the Senators roster at the start of 2022 (neither is Josh Bell for that matter) and he should be because this trade didn't happen until July 28th 2022, but players from that trade are, for some odd reason, on Washington's roster, like CJ Abrams, Robert Hassell III, and Soto is a FA in 2022? Same with Josh Bell, who were both traded to SD for Voit, Abrams, Gore, Hassell, Wood, and Susana 3 months later.

Also, in 2021 when I load to see where Soto is, his contract is way off! in 2021 Soto signed a 1 year contract, to avoid arb for $8,500,000 and for 2022 another 1 year contract for $17,100,000 but in game for 2021 his contract is listed as $32,500,000, which is 4 times the actual amount as seen here https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/player/_/id/25959/juan-soto

So, I dunno if someone who works on the database needs to go through and look over what's going on here and touch up some contracts, but something is not right.

Out of curiosity, when do these database fixes get loaded? I just started a new game to test some things and Terry Bevington is still loading as Bevington Terry.

Chick Autry doesn't have real batting stats for 1924... he was hit by a pitch his first game so he should have 2G-1PA-1HP-1R in 1924. The fielding isn't correct either, he shouldn't have 2 game started as he was a defensive replacement in both games.

When a new patch is launch, but the most recent fix in the database aren't always included.

Go to the /stats folder and look at the date of the Master.csv file creation. That's probably the date it was last generated. AESP is correct, not every patch takes the time to redo an entire db reload.

Gotcha. To be clear wasn't trying to complain, was just curious to make sure I hadn't messed up the database somehow.



It's an easy fix for me to edit the databases myself.

No worries, my friend, didn't take it as a complaint. We'll see if the next patch has an updated one. I'm optimistic.

I also found a really complicated way to get my historical managers.



I've edited the database manager list by creating dummy teams. For a year I start (let's say 1977) I'll take managers who had prior experience but WEREN'T active that specific year and then assign them in the database to manage one of those teams. Then start the game, delete the dummies and now you have historical managers with their actual record to hire after the season.


Only issues:
1) It takes a lot of work
2) The game still duplicates guys a lot so I end up with lots of double managers and coaches that I don't catch right away
3) You can't connect them to their historical player
